While waiting for our food to arrive last night (Saturday 2nd August), I was sat in the outside dining area next to a gorgeous pot of lillies. What was previously unbeknownst to me was that I am, in fact, severely allergic to lillies.

I began to experience an extremely rapid and drastic allergic reaction to said lillies, which resulted in my entire face swelling up to the extent that I could barely see through my eyes. Since I had never experienced an allergic reaction before, I wanted to extend my most sincere gratitude to the waiter that was serving us (unfortunately, I was too overwhelmed to have gotten his name at the time) for his incredible handling of the situation.

He was very attentive and ensured that I was okay and had everything I needed, even bringing me ice and some of his own personal antihistamines - something that he did not have to do, but could have saved my life had the reaction spread to my airways. He kept in good spirits throughout the incident, and the way he reacted helped to keep me calm. Later on we went to A&E and all ended up being okay, although I do still resemble somewhat of a likeliness to a blobfish.

Although I wasn’t able to eat much of my food, it was delicious and the overall atmosphere was incredible. The only suggestion I could make would be to snip the pollen out from the lillies to prevent this from potentially occurring again. With that being said the incident was no fault of Thai Time, and I would definitely return (granted this time I would sit inside, for obvious reasons).

Thank you again to the staff member who...

Ok at best, food was fine but nothing special, I did have a takeaway so maybe the food doesn’t travel and is better in house! But there was one thing that really got my goat! So I drove down to pick up said takeaway I walked in and there was three people sitting to the right of the door, I’m under the assumption the gentleman facing the door was the owner as he looks like the man in the self portrait mural on the back wall (further investigation turned out it was him). So you’d think as a new business you’d welcome everyone who walked in, this wasn’t the case. So I’m no private detective so the other two people with the owner could have been friends or from the local paper as the owner was talking about how well the business was doing (well done you clap clap) So I walked in unnoticed and pretty much completely ignored, so I sat down hoping a member of staff would notice me. Luckily the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was walking passed and asked “if I’ve been served” I had only been ignored at this point, he then kindly asked my name and got me my takeaway.

So I’m not sure wether the owner is pompous or arrogant, I’m pretty hard to miss so he was just straight up being rude to a new customer.

Shame really as my wife and I were pretty excited for the new Thai restaurant near our house.

Oh and if you would like to respond to this review I will happily...

First time customer, I only bought a takeaway for one this evening but had the nicest experience! A friendly voice on the phone picked up straight away to take my order. Two separate staff members greeted me as I walked in the door and said they’d be right with me (they were serving customers). They were both so friendly and welcoming despite it being a busy Friday night. One came back less than a minute later and apologised for the ‘wait’! My order was ready exactly on time and was piping hot when I got home. The pad thai was delicious with a generous portion of perfectly-cooked chicken and the vegetable tempura was still crispy because the lid had been cleverly cut to let the steam out (no soggy batter!). This place has an excellent reputation locally and I can see why. Excellent food and service. It makes such a difference to customer experience when you feel looked-after, even when you’re not a dine-in customer. Thank you to the brilliant team...

I've been trying to go here for a while now and finally booked. Firstly, NO PAARKING was told by a very rude Indian man to move from the only spaces available at the back. So the 3 min walk from down the road was not needed! Secondly the table was small and very dimly lit we asked to move to a brighter table but apparently all other tables had been booked specifically??? We also realised our table was situated right next to a little kitchen/bar/waitress area which wasn't very pleasant either. However, the food was very very good the mixed starter for 2, massamann curry and green curries were delicious. So to sum up if you want frills don't come here if you just want to go for go Thai then come here but book an outside table maybe?!

From start to finish all dishes were very tasty. They have papaya salad (som tum) which can be hard to come by, and also fancy separate menus for omnivores, pescetarian and veggie (probs vegan too, but I don't really know). Mains were really tasty (seabass and holy basil stir fry pork), however waited to ages for the seabass for it to come rather cold (probs because there was a small amount of curry sauce spread across a large plate, but still disappointing). Run out of sticky rice which was annoying (as jasmine rice is overpriced wherever you go!). Anyway, given that flavours were supper I'd knock one star only and would come back again.

I would give it 6 stars if I could! Just amazing. Authentic flavours that really remind you of Thailand. The owners have really got it right in terms of sourcing the ingredients and also creating some true Thai dishes that you don’t find everywhere (with the obvious classics as well). I read one of the reviews earlier that someone said it’s the “best Thai they have had in the US or Europe” — and I have to agree. It really is. The Thai places in London & NYC and elsewhere can learn from these guys. That’s how you do Thai food properly !!! What an amazing find in the countryside. Wow. Well done. Please expand and come to London!!
