Room was not great, lights were faulty and beds had stained sheets with a very small old pink tv in the room. The bathroom was moldy and i ended up skipping cleaning my teeth because the lack of hygiene was concerning, aswell as this my dad received a towel with a huge burn mark (we hope it was a burn mark). The pub was okay but it felt like it was more of a family home than a pub and not in a good way, the food was ok besides my chicken burger having a super sweet taste with an overwhelming flavour of dill despite no mention of dill at all, I suspect both the burger and fries were frozen or heated up…. Didn’t taste well. Random noises woke us up all night as the walls are so so thin. After playing airsoft all day the hotel made me feel more disgusting than being out all day crawling around in mud. I would say the only redeemable qualities of this pub/hotel is the staff seem friendly and the dogs were very sweet. For 120 a night, I urge you to go to a travel lodge or premier inn. Anywhere but here.

I really had a great time at this local country pub. The atmosphere was really good and the price was very friendly. The owners are expanding the place and will shortly be opening a restaurant and five double rooms. The little vintage of Wadhurst is wonderful and the whole price is filled with charm. The pub has a really amazing ancient fireplace to cuddle up to with a bottle of wine. I absolutely loved it.

Three of us called in for lunch. The pub was quiet, we received a warm welcome. The menu is not extensive, but there is something for everyone (Vegan aside) on a ‘proper’ traditional pub menu. Food was excellent, well cooked, generous portions, fair value for money. I have no idea why this pub, in a fairly busy high street, is so quiet, it shouldn’t be.

breakfast is served at 8.30 . no use when you have to be at work for 8 . only choice for breakfast is full breakfast! I was told food was available at he bar from 6-7 but it certainly was not. Partial power cut at around 10-00 at night , only one lady bar staff on . No lights or power in my room including emergency lighting DANGEROUS ! A;arm panel going off ALL NIGHT next to my room. I asked manager, when he eventually turned up at around 12.00 , what he was going to do about it . His reply was " you should find another hotel " ! Not much use to me at 12-00 at night when i had to be on site to deliver lectures at 8 in the morning. The pub was also dirty, especially behind the scenes. On the first night my room was not cleaned and the sink was still full of dirty water when i got back ,as i couldn't remove the plug in the sink due to no chain on it to pull it out . The only thing i noticed was that a towel had been picked up of the floor , in my experience of hotels you leave the towel on the floor when you want it changing , and hung on the back of the front door, not even the bathroom door. Oh and the bed was made with the same sheets as the day before The other 2 nights the room was not cleaned at all , no towels , bed no made , bins not emptied e.t.c.e.t.c. I was offered a full refund for my stay, witch i am still waiting for ! My advice is to stay well clear of this place to avoid going hungry, being disappointed and unable to do your job the next day, due to...
