Costa Coffee — Restaurant in West Oxfordshire

I ordered one of the new ice whip lattes, with oat milk. I was aware prior to ordering that the whip portion cannot be made with anything other than cows milk, but the rest can, and, as someone who is lactose intolerant, it is important to me to try any balance dairy consumption with enjoying a quality coffee. The main barista serving me was lovely, but when I ordered my coffee, a colleague behind him told him that they ‘don’t make it with oat milk anymore’. He said it loud enough for me to hear, but not directed to me, and did not make eye contact at any point. If this was a company wide policy I would be disappointed but would understand, HOWEVER, it is just a Carterton issue. Witney and Cheltenham branches both use milk alternatives for this coffee specifically, and for all of their other coffees, and were more than willing to make it with oat milk the day before and week after this incident. It may be worth mentioning that I ordered this half an hour before closing at the Carterton branch- a coincidence I’m sure. All in all it was very disappointing how unwilling they were to make accommodations for a very common allergy, and I pity the very kind barista who was forced to tell me this. As a Carterton local, it’s upsetting to know that I will have to travel to Witney just to get a quality...

Loving going in for my almost daily tea, my husband is obsessed with their cappuccino but lately (even in this weather) he's getting their smoothies. Friendly staff, we go in and we don't even have to order anymore, they know what we order. Everything about Costa feels like home, you're allowed to enjoy yourself and I'm just glad they actually serve tea. I don't like coffee but I highly recommend the caramel cortado, I put in plenty of sweetener to sweeten the deal, that probably helped, my husband said it tasted like a cake 😉. The carrot cake is very nice, the cookies are amazing, the blueberry muffin was the best I've every had, so soft, moist and sweet, the cinnamon brioche bun is just the cinnamon swirl you deserve and a chocolate a caramel bun I had was a little dry on the outside but overall incredibly tasty. PS brownie is lovely and gooey and the millionaire's shortbread is messing but exactly as I remember from...

Not bad, it's local, most of the staff are friendly and coffee is mostly ok. That said, don't expect hot food to be available towards the end of the day as they will have cleaned the ovens and pulled the screens on the food section. The record so far is they stopped serving hot food over an hour before they closed but I'm sure if they keep trying really really hard they could probably just scrap food altogether and save the hassle completely (#protip). Can literally turn into a creche within a mere blink of an eye but usually only when I have a migraine (definitely an evil psychic toddler group conspiracy). Not the worst thing in the world and not exactly controllable but might as well throw that one in there for fair warning. Overall pretty much what I expect from Carterton so can't be too...
