Very disappointed with this shop. After waiting some time in the queue, I tried to order some sandwiches only to be told by a man (Iām guessing the owner or manager) that they were too busy to make any sandwich that wasnāt listed on the board. There were two young people making all of the sandwiches from fresh and I had only asked for fillings they had available in the counter, so this made no sense. The manās tone was extremely rude and, during the time I had been queuing, he had also been very rude and impatient with his (much younger) staff. When I came out of the shop empty handed, my wife thought I must have been overacting and, as we were all hungry, she went into the shop to join the queue and order our sandwiches. A couple of minutes later she emerged - also empty handed - saying she refused to buy anything from there. As my wife had entered the shop, the same man had told a young assistant off in an extremely hostile way - in my wifeās words, āas if to deliberately humiliate her in front of a packed shopā. We really enjoyed our day out in Woodstock, but this experience left us all feeling a bit down (and hungry!) and very sorry for the young assistants working at Hampers.

I need to correct you Sir, I was not told that I couldn't use the bathroom. If I was, I wouldn't have used it. Nor is there signage on the door to state that it is a staff only bathroom. By the way, the hygiene in the bathroom was disgusting, which is concerning given your food prep staff are using it. Regardless, your attitude was ridiculous. Its a toilet. How dare you bark at me from behind the counter. Do everyone a favour and get some signage on the door and perhaps invest in some etiquette training. Its apparent from the reviews that you badly need it.

The guy making the sandwiches with the dark hair and beard is beyond curt and rude. If he is unable to engage with people in a polite and respectful manner, then he shouldn't work in a customer facing role. I can see from previous reviews that this place struggles with staff engagement, which seems to be an ongoing issue. The coffee is also weak and substandard. I'll be going elsewhere next time. Plenty of nice coffee spots...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been coming to hampers for years for our morning coffee and walk, the service is just getting worse and worse, this morning we waited 15 mins with no communication from the staff at all, only to be told someone will get to you shortly when asking one of the staff. Most of the staff seemed to be putting good signs out, making up baguettes or collecting sausage rolls from the back, there was one person on the coffee machine who didnāt seem to be too confident with how to use it. Itās seems that no prep work had been done before opening and they were turning away paying customers to continue to make up baguettes just crazy! Someone who can run the shop efficiently needs to be there at the weeks to make sure customers donāt walk out due to the lack of service. There was a number people that left due to the lack of information or communication, all it needed was as soon as you come in was someone to say ā we have a 20 min waitā or we arenāt taking ordered as we need to set the shop up.
