I was excited to visit this coffee house as we were visiting Blenheim Palace and decided to go here for breakfast. However, I was quite disappointed for several reasons. Firstly, the coffee house is quite cold and so when you’re coming in from the cold you want to be able to sit without your jacket on and warm up. Unfortunately, it was so chilly that we kept ours on. Secondly, the cafe is very expensive for what you get. I couldn’t believe it when my pain au raisin cost the same price as my cup of coffee – £2.95 each! I know that Woodstock is near Blenheim Palace and so it is visited frequently by tourists, but I have had better coffee in Caffe Nero’s and Costa than the one I had here which had a lot of frothy foam on top and didn’t taste particularly nice. It was also lukewarm so I asked for a small jug of hot milk so that I could increase the temperature. Unfortunately, I was given a small jug of frothy milk that was cooler in temperature than my own coffee. The pain au raisin, though dry, did taste pleasant and the surroundings of the cafe itself are aesthetically pleasing. This cafe would have far more potential if the quality of the coffee matched...
Read moreWhere do I begin? I guess at the beginning, this coffee shop is one of the best in Oxfordshire, bold statement but worthy of it. From the time you enter you are greeted more as a friend than a customer, a hot coffee, and a warm smile on a cold morning go a long way during this time of the year! The coffee is amazing and the food is really something for a small cafe, I’ve tried a few things over my months in Woodstock and the Chicken Panini has to be one of the best in the area and the Pain Au Chocolat pastries are melt in your mouth delicious!
I have to compliment the staff, I wont name them from fear of embarrassment but they are all brilliant and have some of the best customer service in town.
I’ve included a few photos below of my time around Woodstock - and from this morning while in the coffee shop, keep up the good work and let the team know their efforts to make everyone feel like a friend do not go unnoticed, the only thing they need here is are more staff and food such as...
Read moreThis place is awesome and well deserving of 5 stars. It's very small but has gorgeous chic and character. Fantastic artisan coffee - Beautifully smooth and crafted. A choice of teas and soft drink if you prefer. Take away or drink in. I had salmon and cream cheese bap, made fresh to order with delicious fresh green leaves - the whole thing was crafted and just so yummy. The Cakes are so eye catchingly delicious, with greek delicacies to croissants and teacakes. The staff make this a beautiful relaxing place , a young man named Ben served me. Well spoken and very knowledgeable concerning the coffee - he was spot on, my cappuccino was perfect, smooth and hot. No burnt bean taste. Frothy but no step ladder before I tasted the wonderful coffee. A hidden gem, in the heart of Woodstock. Definitely worth a detour to this charming quaint but stylishly cute...
