We visited Kingsley Café over the weekend as a pitstop whilst on a little drive. Having followed Kingsley Cars and being aware of their high quality Range Rover rebuilds we were keen to see if that quality also translate into their new café.
I am pleased to say we were very impressed with our experience. A lot of thought has clearly gone into the décor inside which was decorated with auto memorabilia and art work.
On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who clearly had a passion for cars, and were proud of the where they work. After a little chat a member of staff showed us round a couple of the Range Rovers they had parked in the yard and talked us through a number of the builds. Damon also took the time to chat to our party, and understand what we had driven down in, as well as share a few car stories of his own which made us feel very welcome and valued.
On this occasion we did not order food, but went for a round of coffees/teas. The drinks were all excellent - the obvious comparison is to Caffeine and Machine and I can confirm the coffees here are infinitely better (and you don't have to pay an entry fee either!). There was a good selection of pastries at the counter, as well as a food menu on the tables, which we look forward to trying on our next visit.
We are looking forward to seeing how Kingsley Café grows in popularity and gains traction (no pun intended...) as word spreads. Can't wait for...
Read moreUpdated 07/09/25: Still love this place, great for a Sunday afternoon catch up with my son. Just couple small things that could be improved. 1. Amount of chips served with a burger, prices seem to have gone up (I get that) but portions also seem to have got smaller at the same time. 2. Tea, please treating us tea drinkers like coffee drinkers, we like a digital mug and a bigger tea pot. 3 mouthfuls and it gone! Updated 27/04/25. My son and I come here regularly, and most of the time, it's good food and good friendly service. They are always willing to help, and most importantly, do it with a smile. Which in my opinion is what it's all about! My concern is that there have been some recent changes and more to come. Recently we haven't been able to buy Coca-Cola zero on tap, which means it costs about £3 more for a pint. The 1st week, I was told the machine was broken (fair enough), the second week i was told they had changed suppliers and they were waiting for the new machine, 3rd week I was told still waiting for the new machine and they are changing to Pepsi. I asked what if we didn't like Pepsi. Response bottles of Coke will still be available. Unfortunately, it means a higher cost, so maybe we could have both on tap and give the...
Read moreReally nice food and atmosphere.
It was a bit confusing when we got there as to whether we needed to be seated or not by staff. We also didn't know whether we had to order at the bar or if there was table service. It would be nice to be directed by staff on what to do when you enter. There also wasn't menus that we could see.
EDIT: Having returned a few weeks later, I was very disappointed by the service. We walked in, sat down and were looking at the menu on our phones for about 10 minutes. It was only when we went up to the counter to order that we were told the kitchen had closed at 5pm (we were there about 5.15). At no point had any of the staff bothered to tell us this (either when we walked in or while we were sat down). There were also no signs anywhere and nothing we could see online about it. There were also lots of dirty plates around, dirty napkins and empty sauce bottles on the display cases. Very disappointed in the service and state of the restaurant. Unfortunately, I'll now think twice...
