Lyall & Co Café Eynsham — Restaurant in West Oxfordshire

An absolutely superb café, and an integral part of Eynsham, in my opinion.

Conveniently located in the middle of Eynsham, right opposite the town square where all kinds of exciting things happen.

The place itself is tastefully decorated, lovely, easy listening background music, and superb facilities. Complimentary Wi-Fi, and large disabled friendly toilets with space to move around in. This is despite being a relatively small place.

The staff are friendly, chatty, and helpful. This is despite being really busy. They will always be polite and engage you in conversation.

Most of all, I absolutely love that they are dog friendly and dogs are more than welcome. This is such a relief for me in particular as my dog is always with me, and my profession is dog related! Dog, dog, and more dogs!

It's convenient that I can pop in, grab something delicious, and do a bit of ad-hoc training while I am there.

Speaking of deliciousness! Everything is homemade, and their pasties are divine!

Maple and pecan cake is a firm favourite, as is their caprese, ham, and cheese sandwiches.

Their hot drinks are made with care, and they have a small selection of interesting cold drinks which go beyond your usual diet coke et al.

If there was a problem, it is that it is so good! You will find yourself regularly going in there, depleting your bank account, and expanding your waistline!

Swung by today with a friend for a couple of Lattes & pastries. Received 2 at best, luke warm lattes and a single pastry. Asked for the other pastry which they had forgotten. When we pointed out the lattes were barely warm, they were taken away to be replaced. After some time, we noticed the pair of them faffing around with the coffee machine, which we deduced may have broken…not that anyone had the courtesy to come over and explain. Due to the time wasted with inadequate service, we asked for one to be in a takeaway cup. Had to leave without it arriving. Lovely Coffee Shop in the village Square. It is bright and spacious and well furnished and decorated with a nice calm atmosphere. You can always tell when a business is well cared for by the state of the toilets, and here they are lovely and clean with plants and artwork 😀. What's not to like. We had flat whites, which were lovely 😍 well presented and great tasting coffee. I had a cheese and ham toasty on sourdough bread, which was gorgeous. The carrot cake was apparently lovely as well. Was quiet when we arrived, but people were coming and going.
