So disappointed with this restaurant. We went here based on raving reviews and awards and was so disheartened. As ever, in my opinion this must be down to out of date reviews or restaurant placed reviews. The award was in 2017 so this must have changed since as this was for from award winning food. Hopefully the Restaurant takes note and improves.
We ordered poppadoms and the mango chutney was red in colour and tasted strange. I should have known from this where basics are not right the rest of the food was a big let down. Just not authentic tastes I expect.
Onion Baji was good though so will give a star for this. However, Chicken Tikka Masala was bright red - too much red dye and not a taste I would relate to what was ordered.
Aloo Paneer. The cheese was all melted on the top. This is not like any I have tasted.. and this was definitely not paneer cheese! The spinach should be a rich creamy taste with pieces of paneer. Not sure why this cheese was used.
Pashwari Naan: There was definitely a coconut taste though no raisins and could not make out any almonds.
Other dishes ordered included veg curry, which was mainly just potatoes and plain source.
Service - ok, but no one asked if the food was ok, which was a first as normally they should ask! Perhaps they knew what I would have said.
Sorry to give a bad review, but hope that it will provide feedback that others find useful when search for a place to eat Indian food...
Β Β Β Read moreI had a delivery from here last night. The prawn cocktail was really nice, fresh prawns and lettuce, very tasty. I also ordered Lamb Kosundi, mushroom rice and keema naan. The rice tasted a bit stewed and over done, but may just not like mushroom rice and happy to try other rice in future. At first I wasnβt really enjoying the dish as I felt the tomato flavour was really strong, however after a while when the spices kicked in I was really enjoying the combination of perfectly synced spices with the dish. The keema meat in the naan bread was lop sided (as itβs been for a long time at this restaurant, i.e. most of the meat in one side of the naan.) The naan bread was very nice though, soft and doughy. Iβve recently eaten at other delivery food places in Brandon and believe this is the best food place in Brandon. The order was on time and the driver was friendly with good customer service. I consider this a traditional Indian restaurant. After spending time in Bury St Edmunds going to an Indian restaurant there I think it would be good for the Brandon Tandoori to have more things on the menu, I really like Chicken Chettinad as an example. I will order from here again, but I would like to see an option for smaller portions as the dishes are too much for one person. I consider this restaurant very good...
Β Β Β Read moreAwful service. We waited almost an hour and a half for our main course. We had our poppadoms and then about an hour later I went and asked how long until our mains arrived and they said it was on its way. Another 10 minutes or so and we'd decided to pay for drinks and poppadoms and leave as a couple of ladies said they had been waiting even longer and they were leaving. Just getting up from the table and a waiter came with trolley and I asked if that was ours and he said yes. I said you're lucky as we were just getting up to tell you we were leaving. He apologised and said they were very busy and we said nobody had come to see us to communicate such a delay. The problem is they seem to give priority to takeaway orders coming in as there was an endless stream of orders going out the door. I can't fault the food when it eventually arrived but we didn't eat much of it as the mood and atmosphere of what should have been a pleasant evening with a good meal had been spoilt. We paid in full but left no tip. We shall not...
