Hyams Bakery — Restaurant in West Suffolk

I visited Hyams Bakers around 1:55 PM and waited in a long queue, which was particularly challenging for me due to foot pain that worsens with prolonged standing. I specifically came to purchase a filled roll, and just as I was about to be served, the staff put them away. Despite explaining that I had been waiting for a long time, they did not accommodate my request.

So, the baguette was fine, but I've had a sausage roll a scone and a egg custard tart from here and everytime the pastry on them tasted like cleaning chemicals or bleach. I had one sausage roll more browned than the other and you couldn't taste it as much. But the rest was nasty. I'm guessing it's the flour. I'd recommend Woosters bakery in bury if you're looking for a proper old school bakery, this place is full of synthetic...
