A book ā€˜You never know about England’ has led me to book a coach tour from Sittingbourne to Bury St.Edmund. Then I google ā€˜What to do and see’, The Nutshell Pub is one of my interest as I am very into Ales & Old Architecture like Lilliput Lane. It was the most exciting thing on that trip. I had chance to drink the local Ales - Abbot that has been nominated the best ales in 2023. Such a lovely atmosphere where everything is so small. You have the chance to talk to locals and Such a friendly lad I sat besides for a short moment… This smallest pub in England is such a worthy place to visitāļø I wish I can stay longer…but the coach soon left…

This place was one of my dad's favourite spots in Bury St. Edmunds since he lived there. Everytime we went, it was always pleasant, and the environment was always lively. Kev was the bar tender everytime we went, and is always humorous and a very fun conversationalist. Oh, and he's a VERY good photographer- make sure you ask him for a photograph šŸ˜‰ I'll be sure to stop by again as much as I could. Thank you for being apart of our dad and always keeping him company

I didn't plan to come to, purportedly Britain's smallest pub, it was just a navigation marker en route to find the lift for the Wetherspoons at the Corn Exchange. Anyway I popped in, only to discover their soft drink and non-alcoholic beer options are severely limited. Plus I couldn't pay for my lemonade with my phone. 'Anything under £5 needs to be cash' the American woman tending the bar announced. So I departed. At least, as she said, I got the photos.

The atmosphere of the area outside the Nutshell was extremely friendly and our table and chairs were cleaned before we sat down. (Due to the Covid-19 issues and the very tiny pub, there is a now a seated area outside, roped off, due to social distancing) We were brought a list of drinks available, which included nuts and crisps. All drinks are ordered and brought to your table by a very friendly bar man Paul. He is well liked by his regulars, who are so glad that the doors of the Nutshell are again open. Maybe not quite the same as being in the bar, but everyone was glad to be back, to some sort of normality. Great friendly welcome, from one of the smallest pubs in Britain. Go and see...
