Popped in, unbooked, for a spot of lunch. Shown to our table and given menus. Ordered 4 starters/tapas plates and a pad Thai between us. Food came out fairly quickly, all was lovely looking and well presented, the crispy squid was a little undercooked (the squid was cooked, but the panko wasn't as crispy as I'd expected it to be) so it wasn't super crispy, but it was still really good and that might just be a personal thing. Only gave 3 stars for the atmosphere as we sat in the very front of the restaurant (at our request!) And it was towards the end of lunch service e so the place wasn't very busy making it fairly quiet (this suits us down to the ground) however the people that were leaving all seemed to have had a jolly time. Would come back again, I appreciate it's a chain, but it's food isn't the mass produced stuff that you'd normally find in a chain restaurant (or if it is, you definitely wouldn't know!) Very fresh, fragrant and seasoned wonderfully. Really liked the plates too.

My husband and I have been interested in trying Giggling Squid for months now since we’ve moved here from the states. This is one of the most recommended restaurants to us and ultimately the most over rated. I’ve had my fair share of Thai food and this is not it. The fried oyster mushrooms were 10/10, very delicious. However our main course was not flavored at all. Even after the server warned me that my dish would be very spicy, (chili and basil stir fry with vegetables) I was excited because I love spice. My husband ordered chicken pad Thai and it was mixed with tofu? Overall we are dissatisfied and will not be coming back. It’s a cute spot for an appetizer and a drink, but not authentic flavorful food. We left hungry.

An amazing interior at downstairs area with calming orhids and romantic lights decorations at the beggining and impressive chandelier and the very end of the restaurant. Eye-catching artificial succulent decorations on the wall together with rusted classic mirrors. Brilliant place to celebrate special occasions. Wide variety of spicy food (the soups were really spicy! ) starting from slightly spiced crispy chicken wings and mouthwatering buttered calamari, for main you can get a good portion of nicely prepared dish and finishing with coctail that you would never try anywhere else. Super friendly staff that leaves an impression on catering and you'll not be pity to pay extra 10% of you bill for service. 10/10

Good morning Unfortunately I wanted to give you some not so great feedback from our meal at your restaurant in bury st Edmund’s last night. We are were a table of 32 Whilst liaising with Emily in the final week I was told about a menu change which included a price increase even though all our pre order was on the old menu meaning all the money I had collected was the wrong value and then to be told two of the meals we couldn’t have anymore needing to find a alternative When arriving at the restaurant we were greeted and instantly told about the drinks you didn’t have which was quite a few. Then to be told there where no King prawns so the menu needed to be amended again for the people who had ordered king prawns After disputing with Emily I was told the old prices could not be honoured and the birthday girl would get a drink on the house At 9 that evening I had to ask for this and then was questioned presenting the email as proof. The food that was served was lovely the only complaint was the boys with the steak the steak was very overdone but everyone else’s food was beautiful however slightly cold in some places where service had been so Chaotic The young girl was amazing but I was under the impression place menu cards were going to be on the table for the waitresses wasn’t they’re fault but I had to help the girls to who was who to serve the food to even then there was one girl to 32 people resulting in after helping my food was a lot on the cooler side I apprictae catering on large scale is difficult but i really felt let down to what should have been a beautiful night. Hats off to the girls in the situation as they worked really hard but there lives could have been made so much easier. I feel that is Emily has become manager on recently taken over the restaurant she needs to be aware of this. I would like to come back to your restaurant with the birthday girl and my brother in law and personally think this should be complimentary as compensation. Even the waitress were grateful for my help this needs to be amended going forward for them. Everywhere we have been before have printed cards on table and the waitress look at menu cards… I sorry this isn’t the best email to receive this morning but wanted to give feedback after last night feel a bit of a shambles some of our party even refereed to it as a shit show. My girlfriend recommended we go to this place as she had been before with friends loved it. So we arrived 3 mins early for our 8pm booking and the place was busy understandably on around valentines day. We were seated pretty quickly by a very blunt host and we then waited 35 minutes before even being asked what started we would like, in this time we were served drinks but even these took a while to arrive. After selecting our starters and main 2 couples then sat down either side and were placing there order almost same time as us. After another 25 mins of waiting, that's a full hour before even receiving any food our starters arrived along with the people next to us. Now I was a bit experimental and ordered the watermelon with flossed pork, very unusual but it was new on the menu. This was without doubt the worst started I have ever had, the amount of ( flossed pork ) was about a teaspoon amount. The rest was just chopped watermelon with mint leaves that overpowered the whole dish, it just did not work at all. My girlfriend had salt and pepper squid bit she could not taste any pepper at all. We then waited another 25 minutes before receiving our main by the way in whice time the 2 couples had already received there's and were half way through. I ordered 2 mains, sticky chiken and a honey duck dish, the chicken was completely blamd and had no effort put into appearance, it was just fried checked in a bowl, the duck was served sizzling but had no flavour at all, the sauce was good but that's it. My girlfriend had seabass which she said was very greasy but none of the other ingredients was fresh or seemed fresh, she had this the first time she came and she said it was much better. We also ordered another round of drinks which they forgot about even though we sat next to the bar. Our waiter was pleasant but seem to take our orders and then completely forget and do other things, I understand it was busy but waiting this long and paying £84 for the bland food and slow service was very...

We have visited your restaurant many times and have had great food and service, unfortunately on this occasion the service was very poor. We waited ages to be served to order drinks when we first arrived and then had to wait another 20 mins to receive them, food took a very long time, we wanted to order more drinks but were never approached by any staff, we would have ordered a lot more drinks if we had been served. When we did finally manage to flag a member of staff down they took our order for drinks it never materialised, after waiting 20 mins we chased and they told us they forgot to put the order through. After we finished our starters the plates were not cleared and when our mains came out the waitress couldnt serve our food as the table was still full of dirty plates and an empty platter plate (it was a shambles) After we had our main meal the plates were not cleared again, and a lady came over and cleared half the plates only and after dropping cutlery on my sons lap she asked if we wanted to see the desert menu (which we said yes too) she went away and never came back, we still had all our dirty plates and curry pots left on our table uncleared and she never materialised with the desert menu until I got up and asked her. Your restaurant is very understaffed and the poor lady on the main desk was run ragged trying to juggle everything. We decided not to have a desert as we didn’t want to wait any longer , so asked for our bill and left. More money on drinks and desserts would have been spent if the service wasn’t so bad.

The service charge was added to our bill which we questioned as we really didn’t want to pay it, We were very disappointed and although the food was good (but not as good as previous visits) it has made us rethink...
