Basmati Restuarant & take away — Restaurant in Wigan

A little disappointed always enjoyed eating here and having take outs I ate here just before Christmas ordered lamb but got served chicken, ordered a take away again ordered lamb not sure what it was but deffo not lamb took a picture and asked when I returned to eat in with a friend to be told they didn't know what it was I ordered lamb and I got lamb the meal was lovely but my friend and myself had a starter , eyes to big for our bellies plus ordering nan breads we had plenty left over so we asked for a doggy bag, thought we could have it for dinner at work the following day, my friend is a vegetarian and I am not, we got home to find that they had put our meals together, very disappointed think since being closed due to covid that Basmati has dropped it's standards when you would think they would be trying harder for custom and ratings...while we was eating our meal a table for 4 sent their order back , not really what you want, think I'll start to go else where in the future, very...

Food cold. Chicken rubbery. Staff rude ! Informed you several times of this problem. Instead of rectifying the problem , you was rude and told us go somewhere else. Well we did. And more than happy with the new takeaway we’re using now. We didn’t want any discounts - just use a heat bag or something

Don’t worry about not serving us for pointing out the food was cold and told by you to just put it in the microwave , as we won’t be back there again anyway.

Vegetarian, Eastern Nepalese garlic chilli was awesome. There must have been at least a bulb of garlic and fresh green chillies. Very friendly and some sarcastic (in a nice way) staff. Tarkha Dhall was nearly as good as it was back in East (Nepal and India). Consistency of thick soup with plenty of salt and garlic. Can't fault it, yet found it to be slightly pricier than the norm. The tables were not cleared straight after the departure of the clients. Wouldn't go to Basmati for a romantic night out or a 1st date but would definitely go back to satisfy my taste buds. ...
