My visit to Standishgate Wigan McDonald's was going ok until the point of my number being called at collection point. I was handed my meal and drink by a young girl, I asked if she had a bin to discard my receipt after taking the items from her, she answered 'NO' after she'd quickly turned away to walk away. She was rude in her manner and very abrupt. I stood back for a second untIl she came back in order that I ask her name, she came back and I asked, she shoved her chest out and pointed at her name badge. I explained that I still could not read it as I was visually impaired to which she replied "why should I tell you, I'm not telling you." I stood back to ask another member of staff what her name was, unbeknown to me this other member of staff was her Mother who quickly replied " Why? We are not supposed to let you know our names!" I then questioned how this be when they wore name badges, she replied "Well I'm not!" I was not wearing my correct specs to see the girls badge clearly. She refused to give me an answer so I left feeling rather frustrated. I left the restaurant and stood outside for a few minutes before I returned in order to speak to the duty manager. I spoke to a man called Calvin who did give me the girls name her name being Tamzin and her Mother's name which I'd also enquired about was apparently Karen.
I now have something to say to both Tamzin and Karen, Tamzin you are rude and uneducated in customer service, you have a lot to learn and Karen, you may be her Mother but it is not professional of you to sheild her from a customers concerns or enquiry, daughter or not! You too Karen have a lot to learn also when it comes to customer service never mind self pride. Karen you work with the public you need to wear a name badge and if you are proud of your work ethics and your own self you wouldn't have a problem wearing one, same as Tamzin wouldn't have a problem giving her name if she was confident in the fact that she had fulfilled her job role correctly and professionally. You two in my opinion have let your company down I'm afraid and not fit to work in a customer based environment.
Always remember it's those public who...
Read moreThe Standishgate store is one of the busiest during the week. Avoid during 11.30am-1pm & around 3pm during the week as this is a rough time of lunch hour for college & school end time. Although its busy, I do feel that the store should be paying attention to the temperature of the fries they are giving out, or stop overloading the baskets, so your not serving fries that are lukewarm due to being sat there for more the 10mins, this was on the occasion this post refers too. The 2nd occasion, my daughter went to buy food while I stayed at college, this points to the chefs. Who need to follow their order screens more attentively. On her order she requested a crispy chicken & bacon wrap, NO TOMATO, the label said no tomato. But she still got a tomato. When she ordered mine just before leaving, the request was grilled chicken & bacon wrap, NO TOMATO! When she got back to college, I opened the wrapping & found it was crispy chicken with a huge slice of beefsteak tomato. My daughter had said no other wraps where being made or put on the warming racks, so either the screen has been ignored & a normal one has been made, or the packers had given out the wrong orders. Either way after sending fries back once & then this with wrap, I think I'll stick with subway when it comes to fast food in town. Your lucky neither of us are allergic to...

Honestly one of the worst McDonald's I have ever been too. For a Tuesday night at about 5pm the place wasn't too quite but had plenty of people in. The staff were unbelievably shocking to witness their service to customers. They were rude, had no interest in working, standing around while there were delivery drivers needing the food handed to them and all out no social or communication skills what so ever. They just acted as if asking for sauce was an inconvenience to their day!
McDonald's has really gone down hill recently, honestly they need to get experienced staff in and get the service back to how I was shown how to work...
