Excellent. Went here yesterday on a Monday afternoon for lunch for husbands birthday. The place has only just reopened and I have to say we were very impressed. We rang ahead with it being Christmas week and booked in, but there was plenty of availability. The man on the phone was really friendly and helpful and greeted us when we arrived with a big smile. We had a full three courses each. I had mussels for my starter, and they were delicious! I have mussels a lot, and there were some of the best I've had. The only I could possibly say to improve would be a bread roll to mop up the yummy sauce they come in! My main was Turkish lamb casserole with rice. This was served on a lovely hot dish and was very tasty. It was really tasty and comforting on a cold day. My baklava was yummy as well. Husband had halloumi starter, which he loved and said his cheesecake was also lovely. The menu is great.so much to choose from! All tastes catered, too, and include dietary requirements if you need them. We attended too very well, and the owner came over personally to check that we were satisfied. A lovely gentleman who couldn't do enough for you. You can tell all the food is freshly prepared and can see chef working, which is always good. The decor is lovely. They've worked hard to make this place look good. Plush seats, nice booth round seats. Artificial cherry trees and plants look beautiful. All tables were well presented and laid out. As you walk in, there are plants and heaters, and the bar looks lovely with nice lighting. All in all, a lovely place to visit. We will definitely return, and I hope this place thrives as e ery effort to ensure you e joy your visit...
Read moreOverpriced for what they offer. Music was way too loud blasting from a single speaker that make your ears ring. "Entertainment" - Middle aged woman dragging people to dance whilst their food is getting cold. Starter was lovely although the bruschetta was soggy. Main course was the worst - lamb tasting more like goat and chicken so dry you need at least 2 overpriced cocktails to down it. Couldn't eat anymore of this tasteless dry bland concoction and tried to complain to staff. When asked to speak to a manager been told that he is busy and staff was rude after complaining. This was our second time visiting as we came there second night their opened and this time we just wanted to see how they improved as then we also been left disappointed, but still gave a benefit of the doubt. Will not be returning. *Reply to owner * we did leave donner and all of the shawarma chicken. We ate 1 kufta, 1 chicken wing, half piece of breast slice (not even full breast)and 1 piece of lamb chop each, now how can we leave any other food if it was only that much for each to try. I simply stated that we did not like the food. Had much better for a lot cheaper elsewhere. When food is enjoyed the plate is cleared. We were already disappointed with the experience and wasn't going to hang around for the manager just to complain. The server who brought our bill should have brought a manager straight away when we complained about the food you should have apologised and not tried to bring something else in it's place as we already were not enjoying the food anyway . Staff was lovely from the start but as soon as complained tables have turned and ended up...
Read moreUnfortunately, I am sitting writing this review eating a takeaway when my belly should be full with Turkish food!! We were a table of 4 tonight really looking forward to trying the food, first impressions of the restaurant were good, lovely decor, friendly welcome. We were sat in the front of the restaurant (the old entrance part) and instantly felt the cold, though they do have heaters to try and compensate. We were not given food menus when we sat down and it took ages for staff to come over and take a drinks order. We eventually ordered and drinks took longer to arrive than you'd expect. Starters arrived in a reasonable time and what we did have was nice. However, the wait between the starter and main course was ridiculous! We had ordered the sharing platter for 4 and understand that cooking that amount of meat will take time, but we waited forever. We asked staff for updates several times and they said they were checking with the kitchen, then another came to ask if we had ordered yet. Eventually the food came, initially it looked great but it was stone cold. The accompanying rice on a separate plate was freezing cold. At this point we decided we had no option other than to leave. So disappointed as the atmosphere and belly dancing was great but staff issues (spilt drinks in lap) and delays with food was too much to cope with. Sadly won't be returning or recommending to anyone!! Such a shame that celebrating our friends engagement was ruined by...
