Positives: Best coffee in Wigan bar none (correct at time of writing) Food options are a nice balance of not being overly extensive but generally very good quality. (Quality quantity) Independent and therefore has its own personality and isn't your standard branded interior. Quirky cool.
Negatives: Needs to be open more evenings! Sadly, on more than one occasion, customer service has been lacking with one particular member of staff. "Banter" (especially when said banter are just veiled insults (don't wear a V necked top being one example 😮) or disagreeing for the sake of it) should be reserved for mates and when said staff has made a prejudicial faux pas, a bit of humility wouldn't go amiss. However I feel that this member of the team would enjoy arguing in an empty room. I'm a robust character, but my money will spend anywhere and I don't want to spend money to feel worse upon leaving than I did arriving. Recommend either a Customer Service course or just taking note of how other colleagues interact. Good coffee alone is not enough. Don't feel brilliant writing this as this is something I would normally brush off, but if you feel comfortable enough to speak to customers like this in a public forum then it may be a little naive not to expect some feedback. Back to the three, bland but inoffensive...
Read moreI recently had a negative experience when I was told by the manager that dogs were not welcome (only service dogs) so there was a debate about how I should place my order as the staff don't approach the tables to take orders. She suggested that I tie my dog up outside but this was out of the question for obvious reasons. I suggested that signs should be placed stating guide dogs only but this was dismissed. My issue is the fact that the cafe provide dog treats and water so it can be a bit misleading to customers, especially since I have been present when other dogs have been inside and staff have failed to challenge the customer. I just hope its not a case of breed discrimination (German Shepherd that is well trained). I still enjoy the cafe but i feel this topic needs to be...
