Subway — Restaurant in Wigan

Where is the button for negative stars? This establishment doesn't deserve one star! Before reading, bear in mind that I worked in Subway myself.

Sandwich artists were extremely disorganized. Two people on the same station (out of three) during a huge queue. First S.A. didn't offer to toast my sandwich, so I had to wait extra for the second one to do it after she was done with putting salad on the previous sandwich. I had two subs, so I told the S.A. I wanted the same on both. She proceeded to make only one, while the other S.A. asked me what I wanted at the same time as the first one was asking me. -Meatballs have a shelf life of 6 hours. Clearly, this establishment doesn't know that, as I've been served some foul meatballs, which had definitely been out for much longer than that, as they were dry and very, very, VERY hard. -None of the salad was fresh. It looked like it had gone off several days before. -Sandwiches looked like they were put together with the S.A.'s feet and proceeded to fall apart on the table as I picked them up. -Napkins were dropped on top of my meatball sub, so obviously they were dirty with marinara before I could use them.

Have to say that this particular store is rather disappointing. I used to work in Subway myself as a manager, so I know how it’s meant to be run. The food here is definitely not properly day dotted, the meatballs are meant to have a shelf life of 6 hours before changing and they’re definitely over that. The place is a little messy too, with the tables being dirty and the floor having crumbs. There’s a pretty serious condensation and mold problem here. When it gets warm and steamy the place is essentially an oven, the windows are soaking wet and dripping. Due to the mold I cannot in good conscience recommend you eat here and instead go to the other store up the road.

It isn’t the staff’s fault, it’s definitely a lack of staff that’s the issue. There’s not the time to clean when they’re constantly rushed off their feet.

My sub was amazing, other than the bread falling apart and the staff putting too much sauce on it. Speaking of sauce, my wife specifically asked for mild sauce. When the staff asked her which sauce she wanted, my wife again said mild. The staff put hot sauce on her sub and when questioned why she put on hot sauce when she'd repeatedly asked for mild, the young staff said it wasn't her fault she didn't know. Even though in fact she had. She then repeated it wasn't her fault and that nobody told her to make it with mild.... She threw the sub in the trash.... Then she ran in the back and threw a tantrum one would expect with a toddler. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. She never even apologized for making it incorrectly. We will go to the subway up the hill...
