A true taste of home — absolutely unforgettable! Taste Africana is a hidden gem for anyone who loves rich, authentic Nigerian cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed like family — the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of life.
The food is nothing short of incredible. Every dish tasted like it came straight from a Nigerian kitchen — perfectly seasoned, full of flavor, and made with love. The jollof rice was smoky and rich, the egusi was comforting and well-balanced, and the suya? Absolutely spot on!
But the real stars of the menu for me were the isiewu and nkwobi. Both dishes were incredibly well-prepared — tender, flavorful, and beautifully spiced. The isiewu had just the right amount of heat and that deep, traditional taste that hits all the right notes. The nkwobi was silky, rich, and so satisfying — the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the meal is over. If you haven’t tried them here yet, you’re seriously missing out!
What really sets Taste Africana apart is the experience — it’s not just a meal, it’s a celebration of culture. The staff are friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do.
So grateful to have a place like this nearby. If you’re craving Nigerian food or simply want to try something bold and unforgettable, Taste Africana is the...
Read moreThe first time I ordered from here, it was great, and the food was fresh. However, my subsequent experiences have been horrendous. I went into the store once and it was busy, the staff were all over the place and had no idea how to accommodate us, we waited for half hr only for them to come to us and tell that we will have to order over the till. We then waited another hour for the food. The food was just microwaved and given to us, I know this because some of the vegetables were still frozen, we mentioned this to the staff and they reheated it for us cuz the taste was just the same.
Because I had a good experience once I wanted to give them another chance since they are the only african place that can deliver in my proximity and I loveeeee nigerian food. Again, the food was not up to standard what I had before. It seemed like it had been cooked a week before. I spent almost £35 along with fees, etc, only to be extremely disappointed.
I have a lot of african and nigerian friends I can tell when the food is stale or...

We arrived at the restaurant early afternoon to only one member of staff in the restaurant. After ordering our food the woman went to the back and looked in the freezer to tell us there wasn’t any goat curry left. We should have left at this point. Anyway, we decided to order starters first and then think about ordering our mains.
The restaurant was empty and you could hear and see everything in the kitchen. Not once did she put a cooker on and all you heard was three separate pings of the microwaves. 2 minutes later our starters arrived. The chicken wings were soggy along with the rest of the food. Obviously microwaved.
After looking at their instagram the woman in the restaurant was clearly not the chef!
We told the woman we would not be paying for microwaved chicken wings which she did not argue.
How can you open a restraunt with no chef in the kitchen. Ripping people off, will not...
