Our first visit to The Bowling Green. We entered via a door from the car park, which by the way is quite a large car park with a big beer garden. The waitress quickly identified that we had never been before and explained how to order and where to order, etc. Drinks are ordered and paid for separately at the bar. Food is ordered and paid for at a till away from the bar. I think this is a good idea. We ordered 2 x The Bowling Green Special Baguette that came with chips and a side salad. It's was very tasty indeed. I had a glass of house red wine, which was good. We shared a dessert of Apple Caramel Cobbler with custard. This was also very nice. My partner would have preferred the custard separate from the cobbler so she could decide how much custard to put on. Perhaps she should have asked for them to be separate when she ordered. To finish off my meal, I had a Cappuccino. It came with plenty of chocolate on top, just how I like it. Our bill came to £36.60. The place was very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As soon as the tables had been vacated, staff immediately cleaned them (sprayed then wiped down and reset for the...

First time going out for a meal since the first lockdown so I was really looking forward to it. Rang up to book a table outside and was told they were not accepting bookings. We went anyway and there were many tables free. We were then told as we didn't have a booking we only have a and a half hours before we had to leave for the people who booked. We were seated on a dirty table and after 10 mins of waiting we had to ask a member of staff to serve us. Food came and partner was missing his salad so we told a member of staff who never returned. We then asked another member of staff who finally brought us the salad, however by this time my partner had nearly finished his meal. My partner enjoyed his meal however mine was dry and I did not enjoy it at all. In terms of covid restrictions the tables were 2 metres apart however: the table was dirty from last customers, only a couple of staff wore masks on there mouth or chin and leaned over you too collect things and speak to you. Overall the food quality was poor, staff had poor customer service skills and were not following correct covid saftey measurements. I will not be...

We visited today and had a fantastic time. We've lived down the road for 2 years and sadly only visited to discover this gem today right before second lockdown. It's a real shame they have to close as you can see the measures they have gone to to make it covid safe; from the staff, to the organisation of tables and where they seat people, to track and trace and even the numerous hand sanitisers. We ordered the traditional roast, desert and a number of drinks and it was INCREDIBLE. Amazing food and at a great price. I was genuinely gutted that I couldn't leave a tip by card due to the type of card machine as we sadly don't carry cash since covid (this is simply as many places didn't accept it or looked at you like you had the plague) so we ended up leaving without a tip which was not deserved to the staff. I will be making sure we carry cash to tip twice next time as they did an incredible job and can't fault the...

Shows on website is dog friendly and was advised of someone near by to go there as was dog friendly. It’s not, walked in was told no dog’s allowed. Apologies it wasn’t on your website it was on the google. Was just a bit misleading and with being advise to go there we looked on line and seen dog friendly but it means outside. Thank you for explaining was just a bit rubbish travelling only 20 Mins with the dog, review amended down to customer service 😊

Great pub which sells proper homemade food, Sunday dinner was delicious and generously sized. We was able to watch the match while eating too which was added bonus, staff are polite. I highly reccomend this pub. Kid friendly and large beautiful outdoor space.
