Update: Gave them another chance.. Visited with a friend on a Wednesday evening. Not overly busy so could choose where to sit. Placed our order for mains, and drinks and was asked whether we wanted any water. Asked for tap water ... Drinks arrived, closely followed by the mains. Halfway through the meal, we were asked if everything was ok, and would we like any water. Once again we asked for tap water. We finished our mains and ordered dessert - no sign of any water at this point.... We enjoyed our dessert s, finished our drinks and asked for the bill. £62. Not bad for the quality of the food. I placed £70 on the table, which the waiter took. We did not see the waiter (or any member of staff) upstairs again. We went downstairs and found all the staff enjoying a smoke on the pavement outside. I hope they realise that keeping the change has definitely lost them a customer.
Disappointing. I recommended this restaurant to friends and we visited as a group of five for a quiet birthday celebration. Very slow service, which we were told was because one of the chefs had gone home, resulted in a 1:45 sitting for two courses. One of the sides never even arrived at our table. The food was, as always, very good. My only complaint about the menu is the offering of Magners cider - it's such a shame the Italians don't make a better apple based...

We were really looking forward to a nice Italian dinner on our holiday in the UK, but unfortunately, this restaurant was a letdown. It was easily one of the most disappointing meals we've had while traveling. We started with a bottle of Chianti, which was brought to our table warm. It was clearly not stored properly, making it undrinkable. The calamari arrived next, and it was served with a side of tartar sauce, which is a strange and incorrect pairing for this dish. For my main course, I ordered the penne pollos de casa. The menu didn't mention it, but the dish came out baked and was full of green and red bell peppers, which completely changed the flavor and texture of what I expected. We were so disappointed that we ended up pushing our plates aside and leaving. On my way out, I spoke with the chef to ask why the pasta was baked when it wasn't described that way on the menu. Unfortunately, this didn't resolve anything. Between the warm wine and the poorly prepared food, we simply can't recommend this place. It's a shame, and we hope they can improve...
Read moreWent after hearing good reviews. How disappointing. Felt like all the staff were mocking us, kind of looking down their noses at us. All young lads in their 20’s and 30’s. Asked me what I wanted. Can I have carbonara please. Yes sir, anything else? Yes, garlic bread please. Would you like cheese on that? No thank you. Ok, so would you like cheese on the Garlic Bread? I just said no! No, that was in answer to the Carbonara, he replied. No, you never asked about me wanting cheese on the carbonara. He said, well of course you want cheese on your carbonara, and laughed. He had a stinking attitude. Besides that, the garlic bread was just a plain pizza base, not a single whiff or taste of garlic. The carbonara was tasty enough, but had to leave every single piece of bacon, as I gave myself toothache trying to chew it. It was extremely rubbery. Had to spit it out. £3.50 for a 200ml of lemonade is scandalous too. My work colleague had lasagne, which he enjoyed, but he was also very disappointed with the garlic bread. I won’t be returning, unless there is a change of staff and chef,...
