What an absolute disgrace of an Indian restaurant. Ordered £28 worth of curry last night and it arrived within 15 mins (thought that was a little too quick anyway) and when we opened it all, it was not at all what we expected. I ordered a chicken tikka masala and tasted disgusting and my pilau rice had lots of disgusting onion skin in it. And my partners chicken biryani had a pot of orange sauce ?!?! And a bowl of rice - where is the vegetables?! We also asked for a pot of mango chutney and we got some dusting green gloop. I rang up to let you know and ask for a refund, and to my disgust, I was told that you could only give me 50%, when I questioned why you said "because we do not know" - you didn't believe that I had not eaten it!!! I said for you to come round and I'd proof it and you said you had no time to do that. Well I had no time to eat your food! We spent £28 on this and it was horrendous. You said that you do "proper Indian food" - well I have eaten at many Indian restaurants before and I can tell you that NEVER EVER had pilau rice had sloppy onion skin in it. I had to settle for the 50% off but I will promise you, I am never, ever recommending...
Read moreBrowsed their website, as I was 'round the corner, and decided it looked terrific (but I'm no fool). I rang and ordered a takeaway (collection) for 6.30 (at 6.02). I turned up at 6.29 (can't help myself) - the food arrived at 6.30!!!!! STARTER: Onion Bajia - slightly black on the outside horrendously dry on the inside and was difficult to put a fork through. Ridiculously hot! A pathetically small portion of sauce accompanied it - not nearly enough. MAIN: Lamb Biryani - dry lamb buried in some dry rice with an accompanying tub of sauce (it said 'Sauce' on it). The sauce appeared to be out of a tin, or should have been! Yuk, but it did have some peas in it. Peshwari nan - dry and really quite yucky (it went in the bin with most of the rest).
The images (clearly borrowed) and text on their website just wreaks of fine dining - or something approaching it. I suspected it wouldn't quite be there as a takeaway - how could it be? No, sorry - this wasn't even close, it was really quite horrid, amateurish and .......... well ........... you get the idea. Won't be going back despite being regularly 'round the...

This is my thing; I know a thing or two about good Indian, Nepalese cuisine. The offering here was excellent and far surpassing expectations.
I was offered a table promptly. They even asked if the lighting was okay before seating me.
The menu was typical for a U.K. offering but I knew exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, it was not in the menu. Nevertheless they made no quibble and made me, mattar paneer.
The food was hot, decent in portion size and exactly as I love it. Full of flavour. Succulent chicken tikka and a dhansak sauce thick, sweet and sour, full of red lentils, cooked to perfection.
The rice was delicious and not overly greasy. A beautiful soft pillow Garlic naan made for a good mopping up. Nothing was left here, not a scrap.
Very reasonable prices. 1x mattar paneer side 1x CT dhansak 1x special ride 1x garlic naan 1x pint soda lime Cira £26
