Babylon Mediterranean Restaurant — Restaurant in Wirral

Came here on Tuesday with the family for my birthday and everything was amazing. Felt like I was in turkey, the decor, atmosphere and music was great. We went for the early bird menu which is 14.95 for 3 courses and a glass of wine, what an absolute bargain!

In my opinion, the best middle eastern/turkish grill on the whole of the wirral. We've tried many of them and find lots of others to be a rip off and the meat to be dry. Here, you get an amazing meal, the meat is so juicy and cooked to perfection and the fresh warm Turkish bread 😍 is to die for! Between our party they gave us 4 baskets fully loaded with turkish bread to go with our starters. I had baba ganoush to start and it was gorgeous, so fresh. Then had the mixed kebab as my main with turkish pilaf and salad, then finished with homemade baklava 🤤 perfect!

Even the chef came out to ask us how our meal was and even brought the kids lollypops at the end of the meal, which was a really nice touch. I arrived at this restaurant on a Monday evening in August with my wife and brother. Is was our very first visit here. Outside of the Babylon wasn't overly inviting, however, inside was a revelation. Set up over two floors there is ample room for large parties. The decor was in keeping with the Mediterranean theme and background music and ambience were excellent. We had starters, I had the spicy sausage and my wife and brother had a sharing messe platter, consisting of olives, peppers, cheese and various dips. All were superb. Mains being, one vegetarian moussaka and two mixed kebabs. Meat was chicken and lamb. All meals came with salad and hot flat bread. Absolutely beautifully cooked and very tasty. Our waitress was Sophie. She was very entertaining and professional. Finally, we had liqueur coffee's my preferences was cointreau, which was delicious. All in all, a lovely experience which we will definitely repeat in the future. Also, advised that they have belly dancers on Friday and Saturday evenings if that is of interest. Well deserving of...

I don't normally write reviews, but this place was beyond terrible. From the moment we arrived, the owner and the girl working valet were too busy chatting and laughing with each other to even acknowledge customers. Zero professionalism, zero care.

We ordered wings and found a hair in the food. When we pointed it out, they denied it was theirs like we were making it up — no apology, no responsibility. To make things worse, the spoon and fork on the table were dirty, like they hadn't even been washed. Absolutely disgusting.

I ordered a draft beer and the glass smelled foul, like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. That was the final straw. I didn’t even finish my food — I got up and walked out.

If you care at all about hygiene, service, or just basic respect as a customer, do NOT waste your time or money here. This place needs to be shut down or completely retrained from the top...
