Cafe Blu — Restaurant in Wirral

Visited here today with my partner. He ordered sausage on toast and I got a small breakfast. Service seemed nice at first and I was happy with my breakfast however my boyfriend wanted brown sauce on his toastie, put quite a fair bit on and then he smelt it. It was in a hp bottle but it was NOT hp sauce. It smelt like cinnamon/nutmeg type of christmas smell and it was very unpleasant. It also seemed to have little bits inside the bottle that you could see from the bortle. The lid had no expiration date at all and looked used and fully wiped. He left his whole meal and the lady said are you finished, and i said yes and he mentioned the brown sauce and how it was inedible for his meal now. She got snarky immediately and brought up a bottle of hp sauce out from under the counter with the lid still on saying look these are all hp sauce! I said well I've tasted and smelt it too and it isn't right at all, she got extremely defensive and didn't even apologise. No offer to make any different food, no offer of not paying. He literally left his whole meal untouched.

This place is absolutely disgusting, I went in today with my daughter and son. My son is 10 and has autism he had a pastie from greggs which he was picking at out of the bag, the lady came over and said no food from other places, which I totally understand but my son that's another level. He was starving and started getting annoyed as she kept coming over, I told her he had autism which the response was my nephew is I get it all the time. She then decided to give us take out cups and said would that be easier, she was basically throwing us out as my child was upset and angry with her, it cost me £9 for 3 drinks I had to take out and walk around the streets with. Love this place / gorgeous hot food - freshly cooked and highly recommended. I’ve read the review that was left yesterday and I am appalled a customer commenting in regards to HP sauce!! Get a life, and looking at your previous reviews for small businesses and establishments it seems maybe you are the issue for concern rather than the businesses.
