Farmers Arms — Restaurant in Wirral

Bar was full of people waiting but no bar staff serving. Eventually someone appeared but it took ages for more staff to arrive. People had been waiting ages and staff were not focused and stood all at one enc if the bar talking, and were serving anyone in any order. Service was poor - I waited nearly 20 minutes to get a pint and to order food - by the time I was able to order my food - other customers had taken my table. There were limited other tables available and too many tables had reserved signs on with no body sitting at them - the pub wasn't exceptionally busy and waiting times were avoidable if only bar staff were actually behind the bar and serving in the first place then there wouldn't have been long delays. I had stopped coming here a while ago because the sevice is like this all too often - I've given it a second chance today thinking the service might have improved - if anything it's got worse and so I won't be returning again anytime soon. There was no management presence around and the staff had no sense of urgency or direction.

Not at all good today ! I would have like to have left some positive feedback but this is just my honest...

Came for dinner the other week with my husband and son and it was lovely, therefore decided to return for tea with my family to celebrate a special occasion last night and the food was not great at all! My mum couldn't have steak as my sister ordered the last one. The chicken my husband and I ordered also had to be doubpe checked whether it was available, which it was, however our meals and my son's came out after half the family had finished eating their meals and after we had chased up where the meals actually where. My son's scampi was dripping in grease, so much so he didnt touch it. My husband's looked burnt on one side but he ate it anyway. My sister's steak was to be well cooked, which it was on the outside, cremated, but inside, very much still pink so she left a lot of that! Disappointing really. We stayed for a bit after the meal, however our plates were not collected until we started leaving. Every table in the bar around us had empty glasses or plates on, uncollected. No one came to check how our meals where. Most of us left disappointed and definitely won't...

Visited here on a couple of occasions recently and the staff are always really pleasant and friendly, make you feel welcomed and nothing is ever too much trouble. We have been served by Maya on each occasion and she’s a credit to the business, so polite and attentive who always has a smile on her face. Today we visited with our dog and sat next to the lovely log fire which was nice and warm which helped. We ordered some food which was delicious, I have Crohn’s and the staff made sure about dietary requirements which I appreciate massively. My Wife had the burger whilst I ordered the turkey dinner, both absolutely delicious. We visit pub/restaurants regularly and would definitely recommend here to anyone especially if you have a dog, it’s a fabulous place, nice atmosphere (live singer was on and was very good) and nice people.
