Another update! - Back again last night (Wednesday) for my third visit. Tacos and nachos were, as always, fresh and tasty. Took someone for their first time who was slightly apprehensive on ordering and what to expect, but they enjoyed the food and atmosphere. ------------------------------------------------- Update - revisited again Friday evening. Not surprisingly, it was a lot busier and louder but service was still fast and friendly. This time, with a group of friends, we opted for the tacos. three plates each and a shared plate of nachos. Again, the food looked and tasted fantastic. Fish tacos were particularly good. Quesa tacos birria were so rich and tasty. I'm super greedy but that left me stuffed. :-) ------------------------- Lovely food and friendly attentive staff. I was a little worried about the ordering, however, the menu was explained and a burrito with a side/starter was easily enough for an evening meal. Prices were really reasonable . Great to have a place like this local to the village

This is our third visit to Pina Loca in just a few weeks. We’re from West Yorkshire, but my fiancé has had appointments and a full week of cancer treatment in Clatterbridge. We first visited a few weeks ago and were blown away; the staff were amazing, the cocktails were fantastic, and the food was absolutely incredible. When we returned for the full week, we knew we had to come back, and we have, twice! Each visit, the food was consistently delicious and the service truly 5⭐️. Conor, in particular, was there each time and was so attentive, friendly, and welcoming, he really made us feel at ease. Tonight (Friday 26th September) we visited again to celebrate my fiancé finishing his treatment, and Conor went above and beyond to make the evening special. Pina Loca has quickly become our favourite spot, and we’ve been recommending it to everyone local who will listen😂. We’re already planning to come back. Thank you so much Conor for helping to make a really tough week feel so much brighter.

Went to Pina Loca on a whim after seeing pics on Facebook. We only live down the road so rang up and asked if they could fit us in and we would have a pram. No problem. We had cocktails plus a few small plates and a few tacos. We can't rate it highly enough. Food was super speedy and the cocktails were great. Eddie was looking after us and he really knew his stuff. He easily explained the menu amd translated some mexican/Spanish so we knew what we were ordered (mainly certain liquers in the drinks!). Eddie was very polite, attentive and knowledgeable and made us feel at ease. This was our first proper meal out with a 5month old and we splurged, it was great. It doesnt have to be expensive....it was a big treat for us. Everything about it was good. We will be back. Thanks Eddie, from Nikki and Dan

If you're on the hunt for a Mexican restaurant that will tantalize your taste buds, look no further than Pina Loca! This vibrant eatery offers a mix of hits and misses, but its standout dishes will leave you craving for more.

Let's start with the stars of the show - the Nachos. Pina Loca's Nachos are an absolute triumph! A mouthwatering symphony of flavors, each chip is generously topped with a perfect blend of melted cheese, tangy salsa, creamy guacamole, and your choice of savory meat. Every bite is a fiesta of textures and tastes, making the Nachos an irresistible indulgence.

Moving on to the tacos, while they didn't quite reach the soaring heights of the Nachos, they still offered a satisfying Mexican experience. The taco shells were fresh and authentic, but the fillings were a bit underwhelming. While some varieties showed promise, others lacked the boldness and excitement that the Nachos delivered. Despite this, the friendly staff and vibrant ambiance made the taco experience enjoyable.

Now, let's talk about a surprising star of the menu - the fries! Who would have thought that a Mexican restaurant would excel in such a classic dish? Pina Loca's fries are an unexpected delight. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned, they make for a delightful side dish that complements the main courses exceptionally well.

The overall dining experience at Pina Loca is charming and inviting. The restaurant's lively decor, coupled with the warm hospitality of the staff, creates a convivial atmosphere that adds to the enjoyment of your meal.

In summary, Pina Loca is a Mexican restaurant that delivers on its promise of delightful flavors and enjoyable moments. While the tacos might be considered average, the Nachos are a definite showstopper - a must-try for any visitor. And don't forget to indulge in their surprisingly delightful fries! Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a lively dining experience, Pina Loca has something to offer. So, grab your sombrero and head over to Pina Loca for a taste of Mexico that will leave you with a contented smile and a desire to return for more of those...

Mexican food is meant to be spicy, the chicken burrito I had was at best bland and seemed to be 95% rice from what I could see and taste.

My wife had two small plates, she said the chicken one was 'ok' the other one a pulled pork was burn and tasted of nothing, in fact in the gloom I thought she's had some sort of Chinese chunky seaweed dish it was that black.

On the plus side, they do a potato side dish which was great, wish I'd ordered about 4 portions of that instead of the burrito!

Not sure why, but the lighting was poor, some much so of our group were using the lights on their phones to see the menu. There wasn't much atmosphere, certainly it could do with some sort of background music.

There were 6 in the party, and I felt that the overall cost of £180 for the meal wasnt justified. Particularly as each couple only had a main course each, one side and one bottle of wine between them. £60 per couple and non of us had puddings or starters!

Sadly not somewhere I'd rush to go back too. Which is a shame as I like Mexican food and had looked...
