Okay, so I previously left a 5⭐ review - it's been a while since we ordered, but tonight we really fancied a curry.
I have tried to change my star rating to 0 but it doesn't seem to let you change your original rating.
I placed the order 15 minutes before last orders and received a confirmation email from their own website and a receipt. The email said the order would be delivered around 30 minutes later.
So I waited.
I'm not an impatient customer and when thirty minutes came and went, I thought, okay it's just an estimate. Sure I was hungry but that's not the end of the world, is it?
But when I was still waiting over an hour later, I got worried. So I rang the restaurant.
The person who answered (I presume the owner or manager) told me, no, we're closed now. I could have guessed that as from the background noise he was clearly relaxing at home.
I explained the situation and he said that, no, they had closed at 10 tonight.
I pointed out that both Google and their website said that they were open till 10-30, but he said that they had closed early.
Why then, I asked, had my order been accepted.
The system does that, he said.
I pointed out that it is their own website
He 'could only apologise about that' he said.
By now it was 11-30 past the point where restaurants take orders so we are left with no supper. And they have £30 of our money.
As a former head chef, publican and restaurant manager, who first started in the industry 40 years ago I will say this...
As customer service goes, this is diabolical. It is typical of the shabby, amateurish practices that have come to dominate the industry.
If you have ever wondered why so many fresh food businesses go out of business, this is why. A shoddy, unprofessional approach that turns a 5 star reviewer into a zero star reviewer.
Don't ever close early, unless you absolutely have to.
If you have no other choice, at least make sure that customers who visit your website are aware of it.
And make sure that your own automated ordering system does not send confirmation of orders that you have no intention of delivering.
I only ever leave positive reviews but this slack practice has really made me angry and other people should be aware.
And reading the reviews on here it seems that plenty of other people have had the same or similar problems.
And if a restaurant can't be trusted to deliver the food they take the money for, can they be...
Read moreI haven't eaten out at many restaurants recently. However, this amazing gem has restored my faith in really good, authentic, flavour bursting, local, Asian cuisine. Went out to eat with a few family members recently, here. On arrival, we were greeted most warmly, kindly and the restaurant was nice and cool. It was busy, but not overly so that you couldn't hear yourselves speak. Lovely ambience, modern decor but still with a desi vibe. Once seated, I was pleasantly surprised at the vast array of dishes on the menu. Starters ordered, included Paneer, Chicken tikka, and the sauces which accompanied were really lovely. Poppadoms were nice and crispy, no staleness at all. Being so pleased at the tasty, flavour bursting starters and, succulent chicken, we awaited our mains. Not long before these were also bought to our table. Including, chicken saag, butter chicken, chicken korma, fried rice and a selection of naan bread. Again, superbly fresh, delicious and piping hot, as one would expect. Garlic naan was exceptionally good. Being quite a fussy eater, I honestly have no complaints whatsoever about anything with this restaurant. Service was with a smile, throughout by all the staff. Haven't tasted flavours as good at this in a long time, therefore, wouldn't hesitate to 100% recommend. Will be visiting again very soon, with more family and friends. Thank you, to all the staff at Qmin. Top people...
Read moreThis is the first time ordering from this restaurant & believe me it will be the very last. We ordered for our family of 6. The food came & every single curry contained a large portion of water which is was not a great start. The chips were not throughly cooked, the chicken was hard, the onion bhaji was like rubber. I’m not one to moan lightly but this was not acceptable. Especially when half the food ordered was for our children! We decided to call the restaurant and make our problems known as we did spend £70 & thought this isn’t fair that the food is not up to standards. The guy who answered was very rude to my partner and persisted to say we’re not entitled to having a refund or having our food changed (even though it would have been the exact same all over again) if you can’t cook it good the first time, we don’t want it! He said we put the water in all of our food!! Why would we spend £70 to ruin our food?? Every excuse to not give a possible returning customer a refund. He said we’re not having a refund and to shove our refund where the sun don’t shine!!! Absolutely disgraceful service & even worse food! Avoid this restaurant at all costs!! Spend your money elsewhere or purchase through Just Eat where at least your complaints are taking seriously & you may get some...
