One star is generous, given the attitude of the staff. Extremely rude and unprofessional and we won't be back and will be advising everyone to steer clear. We made 2 separate food orders, seconds apart, for the same table. (Please note we ordered both lots of food from the same member of staff and made it very clear we were all together at one table). Half the food came out fairly quickly, however, by the time half the party had finished eating, there was still no sign of the rest of the food. A young girl came round by the table, and I asked her what was going on as we had only recieved half of our food. She waved her hand at me and said "yeah well, take it up with the boss", and walked away! Another member of staff then came straight over and her attitude was pretty much "do you want the food or not!" We stated that we would like the food as we had a 7 year old child waiting to eat, but under the circumstances, we would appreciate a round of drinks on the house for the inconvenience caused to us. I was then told I was extremely rude to ask for this! At this point, a male member of staff approached us and proceeded to blame us for the issue for putting 2 separate orders in and not ordering all together! We asked for the manager, to be told by 2 different staff members that he wasn't in the building, which I've found out not to be true! Please note, they also delete any negative feedback from their social media. I've also now been blocked from their social media page for letting them know the issues I had in their pub last night! Absolute amateurs! Get some polite, customer focused, professional staff in your establishment!
EDIT...despite the generic response to this review by the "owner", the actual owner has responded to one of my social media comments basically calling me a liar and stating that I was the problem! Avoid at all costs!

Read moreWe went for lunch on a Wednesday, it was fairly quiet, we were greeted by 'The Boss' as shown on his tee-shirt. He offered us a choice of various tables. The Inn is part of the 'Marston' group. The menu offered a hugh choice. Menu orders were taken at the bar. The bar also offered a wide choice of Ales and Ciders. Pricing was very reasonable. Service of the food to table was given by a very helpful waitress. The food was excellent. The steak I had chosen was medium rare 15mm thick and done to perfection, the chips, although a production chip was also cooked perfectly. This choice came with onion rings and peas as standard. Apparently they do a Carvery on Sundays Lunchtimes and Wednesday evenings. We decided to book a Sunday meal and the earliest booking was 2 weeks. I'm not surprised after tasting the food and seeing how hard they work to keep the serving area for the carvery spotless. It offers a bright well maintained environment. Full credit to 'The Boss' and his co workers. Can't wait for my Sunday booking to come. UPDATE: We went for our Sunday Carvery, greeted by very pleasant staff member. Shown to table. Orders for Carvery taken at the Bar. Choice of two, regular or large. At the carvery counter was choice of three meats, variety of vegetables, Yorkshire puddings. Gravey was supplied in a separate area adjacent to serving area, help yourself. All meal complementary sauces were there for your meal. "The Boss", Andy, has got one of the best teams I have seen, happy, helpful, and dedicated to the customer service. Well done all, will definatly visit again. See pictures for meal...
Read moreWell what can I say! How different is it since a change of management! 4 adults 2 kids. Chicken burger, asked for side salad …… expected more than 1 slice of onion, 3 carrot batons, and 2 slices of “not fresh “ iceberg. It looked that bad that the waitress looked embarrassed.
No vegan options for dessert
Kids lolly’s were apparently all frozen together solid due to previous manager unplugging the freezer. Now I question the level of food hygiene here, it’s been 4 weeks since the take over and it takes till today for them to notice that there is still food in the freezer that has obviously been defrosted & refrozen!!!!
Finally In replaced for the lolly they gave the 5 year old ice cream, 1/4 of the way through we found that the glass was cracked, chipped & broken. ON A KIDS DESSERT !!!!
Unfortunately we did at this point decide to complain, the manager wasn’t available, but the assistant went to investigate & came back with a refund for the “side salad” & 2 kids pudding and the caveat of “will sort you out if you come back next week”
