Well today was a really wet and rainy day. Our destination was Sainsbury's on Bentley Bridge, got just past The Red Lion and it poured down. We decide to take shelter under some trees not far from the Red Lion. As we were standing there my husband said shall we go into the Red Lion and have something to eat and drink until this rain stops. We were in agreement our Son and me and hubby of course. So in we went . I haven't been in the Red Lion for quite a few years now so I was quite surprised at the change. I tried to work out where the Childrens room used to be, the Bar, and the Lounge. My husband said its changed quite a bit since we last came, and even more with your memories of this place. Anyway let's get off memories and my bit of history. The Red Lion When we ordered our food at the bar I was quite happy with how we were greeted, the Young Lady who served us was happy and chatty really pleasant and smart and professional. The food is moderately priced and tasted fantastic what more could we have asked for on a day like today. We could have passed a couple of hours away just chatting in such a warm atmosphere. The toilets are clean and smell nice and are checked on a regular basis there is an adequate car park and the Red Lion is within walking distance. There are about three buses for different routes passing by the Red Lion. When you have sometime why not take a visit and try The Red Lion,...
Read moreWe went there last night , first no time for a long long time to be honest. We got there about half 6 and no one was in there eating at all … Anyway all 4 of us decided to go for the Indian menu … lots of choice on this menu so we give it a go…. Let me say that the girl and the young lad who served us were brilliant by the way , really friendly and funny. The food portions are big on the starters , lots of flavour and the food looks good. The mains were also big and we all said how nice the food was but the ONLY reason I’m not recommending this place is the price , it’s a bit expensive for a pub in Wednesfield. It’s the same price range as the Crown at Wergs …. And … it’s just a pub in Wednesfield . Can’t fault the food or the service but they’ve got the pricing wrong for sure. We all had a couple of drinks each but £180 for four...
Read moreUnfortunately, my recent visit to the pub left me quite disappointed, mainly due to the food quality. It seems like there may be a need for additional training on how to properly use a microwave. My lasagna was overcooked to the point that it impacted the texture and taste, and my garlic bread was rubbery, making it difficult to enjoy.
If the food is simply being reheated, there are clearly some quality control issues that need addressing. Proper reheating techniques or a review of the preparation process could go a long way in ensuring the dishes served meet a higher standard.
Overall, my experience wasn’t great, as the food quality is a fundamental part of any dining visit. I hope these points can be taken as constructive feedback to help improve future experiences for...
