Ordered and collected a family mixed grill yesterday, after enjoying the last time we had it. Wish I hadn't! Fact that the food was packed so only way to check it all would've been to open it all up and check the pieces of meat, before bringing it home. Obviously not practical.
Anyway brought the food home, sat down to eat with the wife and child, pulled out a lamb chop and it was worse than rubber. Rubber in fact would have been more edible! Thought it was just a one-off but all 3 pieces were the same. Yes I should've called up the restaurant to complain but after a long busy day, we just decided to make do with the rest of the meat and call it a night. I say that but in reality 3/4 of the food ended up in the bin.
They probably used old meat or left overs from other diners to make our food. All 3 of us have spent most of the day running to the toilet! Very bad experience.
Fish pakora was ok Seekh kebab was ok King prawns - only one could be classed as a king; the other was little bigger than the...
Read moreWe booked a table at The Angel Inn with a group of work colleagues on a Saturday night. The place was very busy as there was a football final on the screens. Generally the atmosphere was good, although a little ruckus did break out at one point and things got a little bit rowdy. This was soon settled and we got to ordering food. Ordering is done at a hatch and it's every man for themselves, which is great to avoid awkward bill splitting at the end of the night. They have a good menu with plenty of choice, with both veggie and meat options. I have to say the food was top notch, I had the vegetarian sizzler(see photo) and it was really good, definitely a choice for those with a hearty appetite, or maybe it's a good sharer dish for normal eaters! All the food arrived promptly, the group reported the food to be great and there were no complaints. Would definitely come back again, maybe not on a football finals night, but would highly recommend to others to...
Read more13th Sept 25, ordered a takeaway chicken tikka masala- flavour of the curry was very tasteless even though i requested medium spiced but even more disappointing to find the chicken used in the curry was small pieces of fatty thigh! You can not serve curry with thigh, its a cheap way of providing curry, it should always be chicken breast! It's not too bad if your having a mix grill to have thigh but all curries should always be breast! We ordered egg fried rice and it was extremely greasy very disappointing! The cheese naan was lovely and the portion of sheekh kebabs was lovely. Overall I can only give 2 stars when evaluating the price of £25 for what we received especially as the chicken curry was so disappointing with lack of taste and fatty pieces of thigh and not...
