We came to try the new menu under new ownership. After talking to one of the staff a few weeks ago we were told everything was cooked fresh. There is a "english" menu & an "indian" menu as it was put to us. We chose off the "indian" menu. Id pass on the popadums - they're premade. The chicken and fish pakoras were ok and sadly the naan was cold. A side of masala chips for £6.50 is quite steep. There are other places close by that serve the same food at a cheaper price. It's a new venture so I'll give it a while then try again as we were told they are planning on getting a sky sports license and making other changes.

2nd visit here after a few years and the pub is still great. The homemade pies are superb and highly recommended. Definitely recommend coming here for food and nice drinks with great atmosphere. The desserts were also excellent. Wonderful pub, great location and scenery, has a large outdoor seating area and this is great for those lovely summer days. Food was great here, we tried the homemade chicken pie and lamb steaks and it was beautiful. Definitely recommend coming here especially for the beer garden, great food and great atmosphere.

Very tasty, well prepared, home cooked food, with a decent presentation and excellent taste And that in the lower pub price range. It was a bit of a surprise find really. The car park was almost empty, to the point where we thought, can it be that bad? Came inside and were welcomed by friendly staff. What I would say is, they are hiding it well, but once you order the food, then the world is all in order.

We live a few hundred meters away but hadn't been in here for a while as we tend to use this pub more in the summer... noticed that they had a bit of a refurbishment so thought we would try out the food. The pub serves what I would call classic British pub food with lots of options available. The venue now has a little more space and the decor is lovely, it is still quite traditional but now has a contemporary industrial twist. The warmer lighting makes it feel more cosy and welcoming too.

We wanted something simply so I went for a beef burger and my wife had a fried chicken burger. Both were excellent and made fresh in house, my beef burger was pink inside (how I like it) and my wife's fried chicken burger was really crunchy and tender. The fries that came with the meals were really crispy and not greasy at all.

Will definitely be back to try some other items from the menu and will also definitely try their Sunday roast.

The only downside is that last orders for food were at 7:30pm, I found this odd especially on a...

We stumbled across this hidden gem while in the area yesterday. What a lovely atmosphere! The pub itself was decorated with historic and quirky memorabilia and it was an absolute pleasure to be in such comfortable, welcoming surroundings. To top this the staff were overflowing and catered to our every need. A great choice of ales pleased the men folk! We had two dogs in tow and it was lovely that the staff made them welcome, even providing 2 sausages for them on request. The menu was perfect and had many options! The food was outstanding and great value for money as it was homemade! I can recommend the chilli! Pubs like this are worth a great review. Overall I will definitely be visiting again. I would give this hidden gem 10 out of 10 in fact more! Thank you to the staff for making us so welcome during our...

Lovely decor, county pub feel with super garden area. Staff were great..food was really good. I was very disappointed with the very limited choice of ales (1). Maybe it's different at a weekend. Atmosphere has been given a middle of the road 3 based on the rather loud and foul mouth customer standing at the bar 6 to 8 feet from where we were esting our meal. In one burst of expletives, I counted 5 F's in a sentence that constied of no more than 10 words.

I'm no angel, but come on, this guy is obviously regular and no doubt would be embarrassed if he realised the impact of his bad and un called for expletives on new visitors.

To sum up...beer choice, poor, staff great, food great... entertainment...
