Very very sad to share a 1* experience here. We stayed because we had a wedding close by, 2 nights in a nice room. My partner had decided to treat us because we'd had a busy couple of weeks with a romantic package add on. The hotel contacted us 3 months before the reservation and said there was an issue with the first night, they'd overbooked and we could only stay the 2nd night. As my partner was best man at the wedding this wasn't ideal. The bride complained so the hotel booked us in to another hotel on the other side of town. The hotel they booked us into was rated 4*, we got there and the room we were in smelled of cigarettes, we were moved to another room on top of a wedding party so noise as guests were traveling back and forth in the early hours. It was a complimentary room so there wasn't much point in complaining. Got back to The Mount on the wedding day, my partner was busy, we couldn't check in till the afternoon so all luggage was in the car. I asked reception for a taxi on my own to the Cowshed in Woodhall Farm, Codsall as that was where the wedding venue was. The taxi came, took me to the Cowshed - I have no idea where I was. I'd been abandoned in the middle of a farm called the Cowshed. I called the taxi company to complain and request another taxi any they mentioned that the hotel told them the wrong address and I'd have to pay for another taxi. Fine. I later found it this happened more than once. I'd arrived at the venue just on time, I met someone later at the venue who had the same issue that must have came after me but he didn't get charged twice, the taxi company charged the hotel. I was going to mention it when we got back to the hotel but it was late and the guy on reception (when he showed up) didn't seem to know what he was doing. He mentioned our rooms were outside in the pouring rain, couldn't offer an umbrella, showed us the indoor route with only a little bit of rain (bearing in mind all the luggage was still in the car). I asked about breakfast and check out times, he said he'd need to find out if it was included and he'd call our room and let us know. Finally got into the room and it was amazing. Beautiful room, spacious, nice set up on the bed with chocolates, a rose and bubbles. My partner said he'd booked something for the first night but as they hadn't charged us we weren't sure it was complimentary. So after 2 trips to the car to get the luggage in the pouring rain with no umbrella I called to ask if everything was complimentary or if we would have to pay, he said the items were included as my partner ordered them in advance but there was no breakfast included. My partner ordered breakfast both nights so suggested we'd find out more in the morning as the guy didn't seem to know. In the morning, we got to breakfast and the waitress said she'd check if it was included, she sat us down on a table that was not set up (no side plates, 1/2 portion used butter) someone must have just got up. Before getting anything we wanted to check it was included, she came back and said yes because they'd accidentally given our room away to a higher paying client on the first night. What!? So the booking did go through and you lied?! Terrible. So, 2 nights in different hotels, 3 different rooms, being sent to the wrong venue, paying 2 X taxi for the hotels mistake, being asked to walk in the pouring rain to get to the room, not having an umbrella or offer help with luggage when not being able to check in early, not knowing about breakfast, lying to us about why we weren't with the wedding party the first night, sitting us down on a used table at breakfast and the icing on the cake - got home, opened the chocolates they'd left on the bed - date expired a month ago (stayed last week). Other than that, room was nice, venue looked ok. Terrible service, regardless of what we ended up paying. The petrol and taxi costs alone ended up paying for the 1st complimentary night. Breakfast in both hotels was pitiful. Staff were friendly enough but overall a terrible experience.

First time visit to this hotel. On first impressions I'm quite impressed. Staff very friendly and attentive, rooms are clean and rather grand looking keeping in theme with the historical building. Had the fish and chips for lunch and have to say was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed. Free parking and good location for local access, also reasonably priced rooms, not the cheapest but not overly priced. 19 Hrs later........ Ok so having now stayed the night, an update. The bed for me..no good, mattress was far to hard for me and very uncomfortable. I always bring my own pillow as I know what I like, this bed is not for me at all. I also had to have the window open all night as even with the radiator turned off the room was warmer than I'm comfortable with. No air conditioning except for a floor standing fan. Also they do have a gym, though the equipment is a bit tired, I decided not to use the treadmill as it looked old, very basic and not maintained. Probably why you have to complete a disclaimer before using the facility. So overall, lovely place, but I'd be mindful staying here in the summer as think it could maybe be too warm in rooms. I'd definitely consider staying again, but the mattress situation will have to be addressed.

Great hotel at the top of the hill, I believe it was owned by the Mander family years ago. Most of the building is "original" and looks very grand (some of it at the back is very 70's "functional" looking). Generally some nice views from the upper floor and a nice outlook through the dining room into the gardens. Certainly an impressive "medieval" interior in the Great Hall and main bar areas. The room at the top was large, with a big, firm bed, a sitting area and a shower room. Weirdly small wardrobe cupboard which seem to be the norm these days, wasn't tall enough to hang a dress. Hair drier and iron both available. A mini fridge with drinks and snacks was there if you wanted it.

We had our wedding here at the Mount on 19 June 2025 and where to start! ||||In normal circumstances, the Mount is perfect in my eyes. From popping down for some lunch, drinks or afternoon tea - you will not be disappointed. From Christmas parties, events such as wedding fairs, birthday parties - they can do it all!||||From the moment we got engaged, I knew that there was only one place and that was the Mount. The building itself is beautiful and full of history; the gardens and grounds are stunning and always well kept; and the staff are all so amazing.||||We made contact with the sales team and met with Sabrina - who put us right at ease with her friendly personality and professionalism. Any queries we had was never a bother and from then on for the next 18 months our journey and communication began. Nothing was ever a problem or unanswerable, and if Sabrina wasn't available, Gemma was on hand to always keep me updated. ||||We had our wedding taster earlier on this year and was stunned that you get to try so many different options. All the food was amazing and because we couldn't make our mind up on a set menu, we opted for a menu choice for our guests which meant each guest had a 3/3/3 choice. We even opted for the choice of the sorbet course as they were all so delicious, and so glad we did as it was the first hottest day of the year on our wedding day, so everyone was grateful of this! ||||The food on the day was even better! Which we didn't think was possible given it was so lovely at the taster. Every course was presented so beautiful, every guest complimented the food and said how amazing and tasty it all was. ||||The Lady Mander's Suite - Such a beautiful room, and my advice to any bride would be to definitely upgrade to this room. There is so much space for every section you need from the space to have your make-up and hair done, a breakfast bar, and the space for putting your dress on - which was a massive advantage as my dress was not small! We managed to get a videographer, photographer, make-up artist, mother of the bride/groom, our florist and myself in - not to mention other people coming in and out. It's absolutely perfect for the wedding prep, and the night of. We have booked for our first anniversary next year and can't wait to relive the moment.||||Special mentions: ||||All staff are exceptional and a credit to the Mount:||||Sabrina - From the first point of contact, until the very end Sabrina has been there all the way. There is nothing she cannot answer, do to help, and just makes everything so stress free. Every email coming in I did not dread as it was just clear and made perfect sense. Always keeping us updated with timings and what needs to happen and when. Even the very last-minute changes, she made sure these were done, and again so stress free. Every meeting we had was reassuring and whilst professional, it was like talking to a friend which made the experience that more special. Thank you so much Sabrina! ||||Sarah - No matter where we are in the Mount Sarah is there with a big smile dashing around. Every occasion we attended, she was there and stopped and took time to talk to us about our wedding and what we needed to know, even details we wouldn't have even thought of. Sarah was by my side just before I walked down the aisle, and she just made me feel so comfortable and relaxed that all my nerves just went away and even fluffed my dress out as I turned to walk down the aisle. She kept me up to date with the timings on the morning, made sure I knew exactly what was going on and when. She really was and is amazing. Thank you so much Sarah!||||Emily - I hope I have the name correct, but Emily was serving us in the restaurant the night before our wedding and she is so friendly and makes you feel right at home. We are so glad we saw her on our wedding day as well. ||||Sophie - I also hope I have the correct name, and I believe Sophie was helping me on our day. There was a mad moment just before I had to get my dress on and Sophie was there and ready to help no matter what. She helped me into my dress with no issues; no stress and she put me right at ease; she also helped my mum get her corsage on. Thank you, Sophie!  ||||Siri - oh Siri, we just love him. We met Siri the night before the wedding, and he was just full of joy and light. This man is everywhere you need him to be and more. They way he runs his ship is above and beyond. Nothing was too much to ask, if you wanted something, it was not a problem. Luckily, I had no issues with the way the room was turned around throughout the day, everything was perfect.  Every moment was met with Siri and his lovely smile asking if everything is ok, letting us know the timings - he directed the guests where they needed to be and when, which was just great. Knowing Siri was on it, we just let him decide what to do next as we trusted him completely. He really is an asset to the Mount and anyone getting married is in such good hands. We even came to the Mount after a month of getting married and although there was another wedding on, Siri took the time to say hello and wipe us down a table to sit down and even tell us what was going on if we wanted to eat or drink! He is a machine who never stops and deserves all the praise he gets. I'll never forget how he made our day run so smoothly, especially with a kind soul. Thank you so so much, Siri!||||Damion - what a man! Damion on all occasions turns up the atmosphere with his positive vibes and fabulous sense of humour. His cocktail making is beyond! I never liked an espresso martini, until Damion made one. Absolutely love coming to the Mount and getting a drink from Damion; if you want something off menu, guaranteed he will make it! Thank you, Damion! ||||Various staff - The reception, bar and restaurant staff are so welcoming and helpful and will guide you on anything you need to know.||||Food - the food is beautiful from lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. High quality and always presented so beautifully. ||||I will always speak highly of the Mount, no matter what occasion. Every time I have been here, all of the above has never changed; no bad experience. It is even more special to us knowing we were married in the Great Hall, and it really is a proud moment. ||||To the Mount owner and all staff members, from the bottom of my heart thank you for being everything and more and I can't wait to keep celebrating every other moments with you.||||Laurie and...

My husband Stew and I recently celebrated our wedding at The Mount Hotel Country Manor and Golf, and we are still absolutely buzzing from the experience. From start to finish, the entire team went above and beyond, making our special day truly unforgettable. We cannot recommend them highly enough!||A huge, heartfelt thank you goes to Gemma, our initial point of contact. From our very first meeting, Gemma was nothing short of exceptional. She went above and beyond, accommodating every single request and more, making us feel completely at ease. Her patience with our plan amendments was impeccable, and her attention to detail left no stone unturned. Her knowledge and expertise were invaluable throughout the entire planning process. The personal touches, like arranging a round of golf for the groomsmen and even fitting Stew's beloved Sunderland strip to the corridor walls, were incredible and deeply appreciated. Gemma, you truly brought our vision to life, and we are immensely grateful for your unwavering support. It was also wonderful and reassuring to see you there celebrating with us on the day!||Then there's Siri – what an absolute gem! Siri is genuinely one of the kindest and most thoughtful souls we've ever met. His organisation on the day was unbelievable; not a single glitch occurred, ensuring everything ran seamlessly. We built a fantastic rapport with Siri before the wedding, and he even took the time to meet and greet our family members, which was incredibly personable. The day after, Siri organised a surprise birthday breakfast for me, a memory we will forever treasure. His kindness and personal touches truly stand out.||Sarah was another absolute pleasure to work with. Her calming nature was so welcomed on the day. Nothing was too much trouble, and she ensured not only we, but every single one of our guests, were incredibly well looked after. Our guests repeatedly commented on how welcoming and attentive the staff were. Before the ceremony, Sarah expertly organised the bridesmaids and, in a moment I'll never forget, comforted me when my nerves kicked in, offering water and checking in. A small gesture, perhaps, but one that meant the world.||Our thanks also extend to Sophie, who displayed nothing but kindness and professionalism. She ensured my wedding dress train was perfect before I walked down the aisle and kept everything running smoothly throughout the day. She was an absolute delight to have around!||We also want to acknowledge Damien, whom we'd met on previous visits. His genuine excitement to work on our wedding day was infectious. He ensured the bar and drinks service was utterly seamless, and his pure enthusiasm, positive approach, and willingness to help were truly appreciated.||Finally, a special mention must go to a kind housekeeper whose name we unfortunately don't know. She came to Stew's rescue in Room 17 around 1 PM, tightening his cravat and fixing his buttonhole. Her helpfulness ensured he felt comfortable in his wedding outfit, and we are so grateful for her kindness in that moment. (We hope Sarah and Siri can help us track her down to thank her personally!)||Beyond these incredible individuals, we want to express our gratitude to all the staff who worked on our wedding day, especially those serving food and drinks. We received countless compliments from guests about their professionalism, politeness, and personable nature. The overall organisation and precision of the day were remarkable, a true testament to the collective planning and execution of Gemma, Siri, Sarah and their dedicated teams.||And last but certainly not least, a huge credit to the Chef and kitchen staff! The wedding breakfast and evening buffet received rave reviews from everyone. The food was absolutely delicious and truly enhanced the day for all our guests.||Thank you, The Mount Hotel team, for making our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!||With love and genuine heartfelt thanks, Mr...
