If you like to wait a long time for poor food then this is definitely the place to go. After a 40 minute wait our starters arrived, and may I compliment the chef on it. I have never ever seen anywhere serve frozen samosa's, so congratulations to you.
Another 20 minutes went by and I was getting thirsty now. The small overpriced bottle of warm beer I had been served an hour ago had been dry before my starter arrived. I then tried to get the hostess' attention and 15 minutes later I finally did I was told to "shush" as a birthday cake came out and all the staff stood around looking at the cake from Tesco's in amazement.
After 1 hour 20 minutes, enough was enough. I walked to the till and told the manager we were leaving. To her surprise she asked why. I then explained we had been sat for over an hour, no one had bothered to clear the plates with uneaten frozen starters and that the drinks had were drank at least half an hour ago. She then tried the sympathy card by saying "we are busy, we have a birthday party and its very busy" Now forgive me for seeming a knowitall but;
The owner admitted defeat........and then produced a bill!!
On it were the starters that were cold, the warm beers, and our main meals that were still nowhere to be seen. After refusing to pay for the food, we reluctantly paid for the warm overpriced drinks and went over the road to Chung Ying Garden.
Not only was the food excellent, but it was cooked quickly - like asian food should be, and we were in and out after 45 minutes having enjoyed 2 courses and cold drinks.
Don't waste your money or time, stay away from Singapore Restaurant. Its overpriced, the food (what you get) is frozen, and the staff don't care.
I would rather go to Angel...
Read moreDO NOT eat from here if you have an allergy or celiac. Ordered from here many times and have always been great, but tonight it has taken a 360 turn. We placed an order for collection, stated on the phone the whole order was to be completely gluten free, when we arrived home to serve up our order i immediately noticed the noodles were not gluten free even though a sticker for gluten free was places on the container. We phoned up and we were asked to take the whole order back and would be given a complete fresh one and they were apologetic. When my husband went and took the order back he was fuming as this could make me extremely poorly, which is understandable after a serious mistake, instead of taking accountability for their mistake they tried to make excuses and blame us for the mistake, first they said they were extremely busy and mistakes can happen (only 1 table was occupied in the restaurant) and second they said we should of stated what noodles we wanted for the chow mein on the phone, correct me if I’m wrong but if you are placing allergy stickers on food you SHOULD know what allergies are in that dish, plus we stated we wanted all dishes gluten free. Hugely disappointing, needless to say I did not eat any food that evening and most of it went to waste as the trust had gone. Being busy and blaming the customer for your mistake isn’t a good enough excuse. Needless to say I will not be giving you our...
Read moreMyself and three friends went there tonight for a 54th birthday celebration. When we lived in Worcester. We used to go every two weeks, butfive years ago we moved to Tewkesbury so this is the first time returning. For starters we had salt and chilli ribs Barbecue ribs, satay chicken skewers and prawn toast all but the barbecue ribs were very nice. The barbecued ribs were quite tasteless.. for mains my Two friends had Nasi, Goran and They enjoyed it, My partner had I think it was called the Malaysian chicken curry, it was chicken on the bone and it was tough and fatty, I had sizzling fillet beef in black pepper sauce. I have to say there was nothing sizzling about it. It looked like it had been stewed. It was tough chewy and to be honest I really don’t think it was fillet beef at all it was tasteless. In all fairness. They did not charge us for the chicken curry, but when I complained to the manager about the sizzling fillet steak at I think £22.00 which I left most of he said well it wasn’t our best night and sorry you were disappointed, and to add insult to injury they put a service charge of £14 which, needless to say, we did not pay, most definitely won’t be going back there...
