Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Worthing

Waited 15 minutes before being served. Then was immediately asked by another member of staff what drinks I had just ordered. Why? Only ordered two drinks, but one was still incorrect, and sat there for another ten minutes at least, waiting for the second one, so was cold. The staff couldn’t cope with the number of customers, but also seemed to have a very odd system of dividing activities, splitting up orders between them and breaking off for other jobs half way through orders. Other people were receiving their orders whilst I was still waiting, until I started calling across to staff for the missing drink. Had to do this twice. Quite embarrassing. No apologies from any staff about the waiting time, no apology about the hot drink being cold. And then cleaned our own table, from spilt milk and sticky cake glued to the surface, rips in the water paper behind, a stain on the seat fabric, and a torn old ‘Get your beans’ leaflet stuck to the table by tatty sellotape. You’d even run out of tea bags. With a Tesco directly opposite. WAKE UP COSTA! An independent would never get away with this. This is real money people are spending, in exchange for appalling organisation and service, in a tatty environment. You need to step in quickly and stop relying on the Costa name. Strange atmosphere almost non existent. Was served by friendly lad and then another woman joined the queue behind me and a young woman called emily came out from back almost appearing moody...took the order from the lady behind me with no politeness just blunt and rude then stropped off out of sight again leaving the lad to make the drinks and serve at the till too. She seemed irritated that she had to do something....although what she did was very little as tables needed clearing too. She created a strange atmosphere and even the lady behind me commented to me about this too. Large shop that seems understaffed and unclean but also not ever busy that I've seen so maybe that's why there's no atmosphere 🤔 unlike any other costa I've ever visited. Great friendly staff. I had my stick and they were so helpful asking if I wanted my purchase carried to my car. They had run out of cream (on hot choc) and were so apologetic. When I explained it was for the homeless man, the manager said she would personally go out and apologise and take him coffee when she finished. They helped me choose some food for him and packaged it up in a little bag so I could easily carry it over for him. One thing I did notice which I havent in other Costa's is that there is a nice amount of space around the till and counter area, making it much easier if I was in my wheelchair. A lot of coffee shops have the seating crammed in and not a lot of room to move around, but this shop seemed to have plenty of room. I certainly...
