Gave food at the George & Dragon last night a go since its restaurant was taken over by "Dine". Great friendly service, food was certainly way above average for pub food. This cheeky burger was nicely done, even my mates Thai curry you could tell was cooked from scratch. Will certainly take more mates down there and wife and kids too will also be on the cards.

Lovely traditional pub in the most historic part of greater Worthing. Excellent staff with great service and offerings. We went for "Afternoon Tea" that was a birthday treat from friends. Delicious it was too and highly recommended. The rest of the food appearing from the kitchen looked great too, but go with a good appetite !! A great experience all round.

Lovely ploughman’s, we had 2 Brie and 1 ham. So much food, scotch egg was tasty. I even got a ham taster! Thank you

My experience? Well, I'm not sure I had one!

Despite standing at the (not very busy bar) with a tenner in my hand, the lone barmaid, after shuffling around some slips of paper, turned her attention to the waiting customers. A couple who came into the bar after me, knew the barmaid and she chose to serve them first. Knowing each other of course necessitated a long conversation!

A young lad then arrived behind the bar, and despite me still standing there with my tenner in my hand, he served a guy (who seemed to be a regular) who had just walked up to the bar!!

By then it became apparent that I was either wearing a Cloak of Invisibility, or the staff had chosen not to serve me...so I left.

So if you aren't a "regular" or "in" with the bar staff, I would give the George & Dragon a wide swerve. To do otherwise will only result in frustration &...

Not been here for ages for various reasons due to the way it was being run. However the bullet was bitten and I ventured in. The menu was smaller than what I remember, but this maybe down to the current Covid situation. However in this case less is more. The food we had was tasty and everyone in our party enjoyed what they had. The atmosphere was relaxed and we were not rushed and had a great afternoon. Going back to an earlier comment, the place is still run by the same person/people but they have seemed to have improved on many levels and it was a pleasure going back and it was like meeting...

Visited this well established village public house this Wednesday 13 March 2024 lunchtime but it was not as good as in the past. The cost of a pint of Harvey's bitter beer was an outrageous £5.20, at least 50p more than contemporaries. The pub was cold and we kept our jackets on throughout our stay. There is no food available on two days per week and served on only one evening per week. The beer was in good condition, as it should be and despite a modest 'footfall' the ambiance was pleasant. Overall a somewhat disappointing visit with a slightly generous 3...
