Poor show Fullers. Visited many many Fullers pubs & hotels & had good meals & stays. Not at Thomas A Becket. There appeared to be two staff on yesterday to cover the restaurant & bar. I had booked a table but none were reserved for the four of us so after waiting some time at the bar to be acknowledged by two staff busy with cutting up fruit & pulling a new barrel through I eventually got acknowledged by Luke to be told he was cutting fruit?! We ordered our drinks at the bar & had to stand & queue every time we wanted anything & although there was only ever one or two customers at the bar it took forever. The men chose Scampi (on the specials board) as the other special was crossed off. After queuing for ages I was told they’d run out of that too (although it was still on the board) so I had to go back to our table whilst two other dishes were chosen & queue again. Our fish stew was warm when it arrived & I had to take our plates back to the bar to tell them. My elderly friend also had warm chicken but told me after as he didn’t want to add to the problems, along with my husband who had a over cooked haddock & they certainly weren’t triple cooked chips. Sadly I spent a lot of time at the bar ordering & laying our table, returning food so missed a lot of our conversation at the table. To top it all when I went to the loo there was no paper & I saw the bar lady walk out of her cubicle & straight out without washing her hands UNACCEPTABLE. Poor poor show Thomas A. Becket. We are booked in at The Swan at Arundel for New Year hoping it’s up to normal...

Decided to go out for an impromptu Friday family meal tonight, so booked between 6 and 8pm. Arrived promptly, only to stand around for 5 minutes watching the manageress have a discussion with a staff member instead of assisting us, which would have been nice. All 4 of us were eventually seated and proceeded to have a really lovely meal of steak, mushroom, and fries. The wine we ordered was out of stock and the service was unfortunately poor throughout, but I have to stress, this was through no fault of the waitress, who you could see, was doing her best and awkwardly trying to speed up the process of kitchen to table and was pleasant the whole meal. The brownie desert took over 20 minutes to arrive but to the TAB's credit, they recognised the failings, apologised, and did not charge us for the desert. As stated, the food was really nice but whatever was happening in the kitchen, needs attention, maybe then they will be booked out like...

Went for a Sunday birthday lunch. Shown to the table and off went the staff. The pub was not particularly busy. Food was ok. Ordered three meals, clearly stating that one was to be gluten free. Staff didn't pay much attention, came back with two gluten free meals and I had to ask for the Yorkshire pudding and stuffing to be added to mine. We felt there could have been more veg, as there was only one parsnip and one carrot on the plates and only the potatoes were hot. My son ordered some drinks using the app, we had to chase these up after a good 10 minutes. Ordered pudding, there was a choice of one pudding for coeliacs. I feel the staff could have been more attentive and need more training. The meal was definitely not worth the prices we paid. Quite disappointed, and had been looking forward to going to this pub for ages. Although a nice pub, unfortunately I don't think we'll be...

Food was really good but I feel they did not cope very well with a large group, we had to wait ages for food (even though it was pre ordered) and I asked for more vegetables as there was not enough for the amount of people and even though I asked twice it was still not brought out. And I could not catch there attention to ask again as they were busy serving other tables. I did not want to get out of my seat as I would have to ask a few people to get out of their seat to do so. So two people went without. Also when they brought out some sauces, you literally got a teaspoon... Which is no way enough. And we ordered three puddings and we had to wait 45mins for it! So good and bad experience.

Visited on a quiet Monday evening, great choice of beers but food menu rather limited, especially for vegetarians. Food was pricey and small portions. Fish pie seemed rather small. Bar snacks were tasty though. Nice clean pub though with ample seating and no musac, giving a pleasant atmosphere. Nice gardens for outdoor seating. Good condition of pub interior. Shame about the gate to garden, hinge broken about 6 months, mega expensive and fake grass ready for trip hazard. Overgrown heding incar park scratches cars, or reduces carpark spaces. Lazy or over worked barstaff so slowwwwwwww Going down hill!! (Updated 25th March 2025)

Lovely pub, we visit regularly but rarely order food as it’s quite expensive! We decided to order nachos (£17.95) for a sharing platter and the guacamole portion was so small it was gone after a few nachos and I had to ask for more. I was charged £2.50 for an extra thimble. £20.45 is really extortionate for what was served. It is a nice pub though with kids play area out the back and an outdoor seating area that has heaters to keep warm in the winter. *I’ve tried nachos in many restaurants and this is one place where I wouldn’t order again because it’s such poor value. Shame!
