Asian Village — Restaurant in Worthing

Went in as a last a last minute decision... actually wish that I hadn't and ordered a takeaway away pizza instead... Not one soul in the place other than the lady that was serving... and she didn't seem like she had a soul... not that she was rude... just totally bland... blank... I actually felt like I was intruding, as if I was some sort of inconvenience... we were not made to feel welcome in any way. As soon as we walked in around 8.30, the first thing we were told was that they closed at 10! The lady then proceeded to serve us as slowly as possible... it was around 10 minutes before we were even given a menu! To be fair... once our order had finally been taken, the food arrived very quickly... maybe too quick considering that everything is 'freshly' cooked! I know that Chinese is quick to cook, but for 3 different dishes to all come out at the same time... 5 minutes after being ordered... 🤔Hmmm. A sweet and sour pork, Hong Kong style came out with most pieces of pork being hot, but a couple of pieces were stone cold... to the point of almost being frozen! What does that say on your menu... everything freshly cooked!?🤨🤨 Our service seemed to almost stop until I ordered some ice-cream for pudding which was met with a roll of the eyes and a muttering under the breath in Chinese, which I'm sure probably wasn't a nice comment. No sooner had I finished, thebill was then thrust in front of me and swiftly followed by the card machine being shoved in my face... the quickest piece of serving all night! I had hardly finished putting my pin into the machine before the lights started being turned off and the door literally being slammed on my heels on the way out... at 10 minutes before they closed! I have only given the 4 stars for the atmosphere purely because I enjoyed the company of my lovely wife! I don't think I'll be...

£22.99 for the All You Can Eat. It was a last minute decision to come here on a Sunday and we didn't turn up until 8pm, they stop cooking at 10pm as I rang in advance to check so giving us plenty of time to eat. Lady on the phone was very polite. Shame the lady serving when we arrived wasn't the same. The minute we walked in I felt like we had annoyed them. Food was pretty standard, cooked very (almost worryingly) quickly! It got to 9.30ish and we felt even more uncomfortable being there (despite them still receiving take away orders), even had an eye roll when my husband asked for ice cream. Promptly handed us the bill the minute the last spoonful passed his lips, we paid, lights were turned off before I could even put the imperial mint in my mouth!! I know it was a Sunday and pretty late, but I advise to just close early and offer just take away if you are going to get annoyed with customers turning up...

When we arrived we was the only table in here. Place has no atmosphere at all. The owner who is a lady is rude and has no people skills at all. The younger lady was a bit nicer but still seemed like she didn’t care about what she was doing. The kitchen put vegetarian Simosa and spring roll on top of breaded chicken so the vegetarian couldn’t eat it. Not once asked about allergies. £30 service charge is a joke when no service was really given to us no check backs we had to call the girl over many times and then she’d say yes and then the phone would ring and she would abandon us and answer the phone she didn’t same with another table. There was stuff on our bill we didn’t have . Food tasted ok not the best was mostly like warm and greasy not worth the money at all and service needs to be trained as it’s lacking it’s what you’d expect at a 1 star restaurant. Not in any...
