The Beach House, also the home of Greedy Gull — Restaurant in Worthing

Terrible experience. I'm extremely allergic to gluten and also vegan and my husband and I decided to grab a nice lunch here while basking in the sun on their beach front patio. The menu was full of gluten free and vegan options which is rare so we jumped on the opportunity despite it being pretty expensive. We stressed upon ordering that I have a bad allergy and was assured it would be OK.

When the food came out I was served the gluten free vegan sweet potato burger and my husband the normal vegan sweet potato burger.

Because the burgers were so big we ate them with cutlery. About halfway through eating I noticed the bottom bun was different to the top and my husbands was reversed. They put the wheat bottom bun and the gluten free too on my burger.

When confronting them they tried to say it was all gluten free and i demanded to see the packaging and was right. I ate the wheat bun. It took a good 5 min of arguing with thebstaff for them to realise what they had done and we were only refundes for the burgers nothing else.

The rest of the week is now I write off because I am so sick.

Avoid thia place if you have allergies they do not take...

The location and atmosphere of the bar is lovely, however the service was appalling. We ordered 6 cocktails and sat down and waited. There was only 1 server behind the bar, whist the other employee was setting up a party. The server stopped 3 times and served the people as they came in. We waited for 15+minutes to receive 3 out of the 6 before I complained. We finally received all drinks 20minutes after ordering. The bar wasn't even busy, probably 8/10 customers. I'm sure if we stood at the bar, rather than sitting down, the server would have just done our drinks. Such a shame as we didn't have time to order another round before our dinner...

Enjoyed an excellent Mother's Day meal here with my family. I chose simple cod, chips & peas with tartare sauce which were delicious & no skin or bones. 7 year old Grandson had cod goujons with chips & mayo. Daughter, son in law & younger son had different burgers which smelled wonderful & apparently tasted equally so. Side orders of breadcrumb & fried haloumi, garlic bread, olives. The sides were delayed due to a change of staff but welcome & tasty once delivered. The delay was apologised for & drinks offered. Alcohol free lager great, winne good too. Not scary expensive. Not posh but clean & presentable. Would love to go again &...
