Crudo is a tiny 'hole in the wall' style Mexican restaurant with bar (although not a seated bar) serving a food menu of burritos, tacos, sides and an extensive drinks menu.

The food choice is slightly limited and as a vegan there is 1 burrito and 1 taco (choose either fried plantain or jackfruit) and some vegetable based sides. The food is large in portion but not in flavour. It's very basic but filling. It's a tequila bar that serves food. If you're a fan of guacamole this is rather disappointing as not only is a small portion with tortilla chips for £8, it's not enough to eat with the tortilla chips which are 90% of the plate. The guacamole is so smooth it tastes like a spread from a supermarket tub, it has no flavour apart from the chopped tomatoes and red onion on top, which are desperately needed for any taste or texture.

The padron peppers were so charred, they were basically black. Despite their appearance the fried plantain with chili jam were good, coming from not the biggest plantain fan. However the burrito, although big was so tasteless and not well 'made' in terms of the layers. Places like Tortilla are much better, as you also get to pick what you want in them specifically. And the sweet potato fries were a 5/10.

The happy hour 4-6 or 9-11 serves 2 Margheritas for £15 or 2 Cornonas for £7 or non-alcoholic for £6. But the best drink on the menu is the melonade mocktail, which is absolutely DELICIOUS! 10/10 MUST TRY.

The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, with plenty of them to help out in cool black t-shirt uniforms with a funky design.

I would recommend this place for small groups of friends or couples looking for a chilled, relaxed vibe to enjoy drinks and company with a...

Where. Do. I. Start.

Firstly, we arrived when it was already extremely busy .. was this an issue for the highly competent staff? Evidently not, as we were led to our table within seconds of entering.

We gave our order to the gentleman who, unfortunately, misheard us which resulted in us receiving pork Tacos rather than Steak. No issues - we made the extremely lovely waiter aware of this and they promptly rushed to the kitchen to rectify this ... but that's not where this ends ... they return with the incorrect order stating 'it's on the house' and oh boy, was I in for a treat as I had already ordered 2 burritos and 2 portions of tacos like my body was experiencing the euphoric dose of carbs and protein mixed together for the first time. I might just speak in Broken English whenever I visit this establishment with hope that I receive the menu on the house.

Shortly after devouring the tacos and burrito like a starved crow in the middle of the desert, our second order arrived and before I even had a chance to offer my girlfriend a bite I opted for the Beavo approach and swallowed it whole like a lass in a relationship that only clear communication could ever fix.

Once I and my girlfriend finished our meal, we waddled over to the cinema to watch our movie and dare I say, just about caught a glimpse of the ending before awakening from our food coma.

In short, Saltio offers exceptional service with the food to match and we will...

4 of us went for an early evening meal. Great deal on drinks as ‘happy hour’ 5pm-7pm (it was a Friday.) However, bearing in mind you are time limited on the table we didn’t get our drinks order taken for 20mins. meaning we were ushered off our table before we had finished our drinks. I did mention this and assume it was because it was quite busy. 2 vegetarians shared the jackfruit burrito, plantain, corn on the cob and 2 meat eaters shared the chicken burrito, pork quesadilla and corn on the cob (which is amazing.) Nachos with guacamole also delicious as clearly homemade nachos-not out of a packet. My one and only complaint is that the tables are FAR too small. We had 7 dishes in total as were sharing and had to put the wine and napkin holder on the floor and quickly distribute the nachos which we had as a starter and hadn’t quite finished. I appreciate restaurants want maximum customers but it did make it a little uncomfortable. This aside, would definitely go back. Reasonably priced and tasty food. Better than your average Mexican which I would never really go to but will...

The restaurant sits at a quite nice and accessible location across the Worthing Pier. It's a small and cosy restaurant, with a nice atmosphere. The Pros: - The staff are really nice and attentive. - Feast your eyes in what others are having, the food presentation is quite nice! - Plenty of Mexican beers and cocktails available. The Cons (based on my experience): - I found the food a bit bland, instead of the explosion of flavour I'm used to from other Mexican restaurants. - I found the pillows on the wall bench in need of a wash... - There's a 10% service charge added to your bill. (This is quite common, but I like the choice of leaving a tip if I feel like the service and experience were worth it, instead of being made to give it.)

Had an superb lunch here today and will definitely be regular visitors from now on. My other half has spent many years eating Mexican food in Southern California and craves it often, he loved the chicken burrito he had. I had the plantain taco and it was amazing. Also had tortillas with guacamole (obviously 😆) and a delicious baked cheese cake with chocolate sauce. Other things were spot on too. The staff were lovely, the music was great and the decor was a great mix of cantina style and eclectic Brighton style. Noticed they had a great cocktail menu too, so next time I won’t be driving!!! Please excuse the stern eyes in the photo, it’s his natural aversion to me trying to take his photo 🥰
