Iām traditionally a huge fan of this pub. Staff have always been terrific, itās cosy, welcoming, and most importantlyā¦. they put a lot of effort and love into the pouring of a pint of Guinness. Being an Irish man this is incredibly important to me! I popped in for said drink of choice during the week where I was greeted with an older gentleman behind the bar with black hair and glasses. Iāve never seen him here before in my many visits to one of my favourite pubs in Worthing. I politely ordered a pint of Guinness to which he responded āHat, off!ā Confused, I replied, sorry? Again āHAT, OFF!ā As he pointed at my grey beanie hat which Iāve worn for years. Confused again I instantly took off the hat as I watched him basically straight pour me a horrible offensive Guinness to which he slammed down in front of me with it spilling all over the sides. I couldnāt not ask why he had asked me to remove my hat as I explained I was sitting outside in the beer garden. His response was as he pointed to the corner of the bar āCCTVā. I walked away with my sloppy Guinness pouring all over my hands with a head the size of Everest enraged. I quickly finished it in anger and left the pub. To the gentleman who served me this pint. You are costing that wonderful pub money, reputation and good customers. Stay away from public facing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAt last I have found a real pub!!! The beer and ambience reminds me of days gone by when a publican could run a proper pub and keep an exceptional cellar. Not to mention the food which I have to say reminded me of good home cooking. I was greeted by the landlord Del and his good lady Carol who served me a perfect pint of ale. I was soon chatting to the locals that were also very friendly and welcoming. The place is absolutely spotless and is obviously well looked after. It has a dining area and a lovely enclosed garden with parasols tables and chairs with an extensive car park. The pub is hidden away in the back streets of Worthing but its definitely worth visiting! I am reliably informed that this is the best kept pub in the South for this brewery! No wonder! " I'll be back " as a certain actor said. What a lovely way to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe booked here for Christmas day a party of 10. The main course was very basic Sunday roast, potatoes over cooked and very oily. Limited selection of veg. Just broccoli, carrots and sprouts. No Yorkshire pudding. When we booked we stated we would be bringing a baby in a pushchair and they said we would be seated with space appropriate for the pushchair. However we were very squished at the back by the fire exit door, so no where for the buggy Had 2 dogs, one of which is a large Labrador, he was so uncomfortable between 2 chairs, no room for him at all. Staff were lovely but it was very busy as was expected. For the cost we paid for dinner we expected much better. Unfortunately we will not...
