Appalling Service and Discrimination
We visited this restaurant with our toddler, and from the moment we walked in, we were completely ignored. There was no greeting, no offer to seat us, nothing — as if we simply didn’t exist. The place was not busy at all, only a couple of tables were occupied, yet no one even looked in our direction.
We sat there for quite a while without being given menus or even acknowledged. Meanwhile, when other people arrived, staff rushed to greet them, offered menus, water, and made them feel welcome straight away. The contrast was glaring.
When we eventually decided to leave, we were still ignored — not even a goodbye. We couldn’t help but feel that this was because we are not English. We have every right to travel and expect decent service for which we are willing to pay. Instead, we were met with cold indifference and what felt like blatant discrimination.
This was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had, and I would strongly advise anyone who values respectful treatment to...
Read moreThis was my first visit and it was absolutely fantastic. I had posh rarebit on gluten free bread (bread was lovely) and it was so tasty. The salad was crispy and fresh and a side of coleslaw which was tasty too. We had a choice of 3 gluten free cakes which is brilliant. They all looked lovely and the cappuccino cake tasted great. We were given hot water to top up our tea pots rather than having to order another tea.
I've felt let down by many other restaurants and cafes as the food and service is just mediocre. BUT the food here was excellent. Absolutely no complaints and I cannot wait to bring other people to share the lovely service and food.
The man who served us was fantastic, he cared about where we (and everyone else) sat and took our orders very quickly. He knew the menu and helped us with gluten-free information.
I honestly can't say enough how refreshing it was to have such good service as well as food. Loved it....
