I am visiting family here, and had heard good things about their experiences here. Apparently something has changed! The waitress that greeted us did not look like she was pleased to see us at all! She maintained a somber look, as she pulled 2 tables together reluctantly, little communication, no offers to explain anything, no information on what was available. I asked her about the quiche for the day, one word from her ‘Lorraine ’. Then I ordered the vegetable quiche that was supposed to have cheese and asparagus. When I was served my first quiche, it had bacon and mushrooms (Lorraine?) and the other waitress came out apologized and took it back. The next one that came out had some asparagus but as I dug into it, besides being dry, with only a salty taste, it also had a mushroom and one or two black olives on one side, with no real taste at all... but salt.. I ate half and bagged the rest hoping that some kind of sauce would rescue my taste buds. The entire individual style quiche from the top of the crust to the base was less than an inch, the egg mixture was somewhere between 1/4 to a half inch thick and certainly did not appear to be anything they worked too hard on.I also ordered a croinut, filled. First bite was stale. I did not know what my family member spent on this gourmet delight, but he certainly should’ve gotten his money back! Sad to say, I think you need to find another...
Read moreI hate to write a negative review, but I’m really disappointed in the $350 graduation cake we ordered. I will say that everyone at The Bakehouse was very nice and seemed to understand what I wanted. I sent a picture of what I was wanted and they portrayed through many phone calls that they could do it. The final look of the cake was close, but honestly seemed like an amateur, low quality version of what I showed them. Nothing about the cake really seemed like a professional bakery specializing in cakes. What pushed me over the edge to write this review was the cake wasn’t even good! We had three tiers, all different flavors. The top tier was red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Luckily I was the first to taste this layer because the frosting tasted rancid, sour, something went bad!! I had to throw the entire top tier out before serving the quests. I did everything they told me to when I picked the cake up the day before. (Refrigerate and take out 1hour before serving.) I had 60 guests, excluding the top tier that I had to toss, 6 pieces were eaten. Everyone I asked about the cake said it’s wasn’t very good. Yikes! Not something you want to hear when you put so much planning and money into a cake. I’m writing this review to hopefully warn a bride, this was a graduation cake, not nearly as special as someone’s...
Read moreGreat food, however server never gave us our salads before our meal. Watched another customer get seated and served a salad by another wait staff. Told the other wait staff we didn't get salad. Finally our food comes out...asked for additional salad we ordered and mayo. They only brought salad. Asked for mayo and ketchup...only brought mayo. As a retired GM in the restaurant industry, service in this restaurant needs alot of work. The other server spoke of specials...ours did not. A man was choking in the corner for quite some time and I asked if he was OK. As I have done the Heinrich myself for a customer this is important to be aware. Server never asked customer if he was OK or needed assistance. What is acceptable today during covid was not before. To build a clientele you must hit all points...smile and greet, take the order and write it down if you can't remember, check back after, smile and clear the plates, say Thank You! Deliver the check. Very disappointing. Gave a 2 because food was good but service will bring them coming back. You want them coming back..training &...
