B & J Carry Out Inc — Restaurant in Accokeek

This will not be kind. The food was extremely bland; not even an iota of salt was present. I ordered the steak, egg, and cheese submarine and was hoping for 60+ years' worth of flavor in the food. I was very sadly mistaken. We came here because one of my coworkers said it's one of the best places to get a sandwich. Well, now I have to send him an invoice and unfriend him at work. The sandwich itself looked somewhat appealing, and I mean somewhat. It wasn't like we came at a busy time on a Saturday. The bread was just bread, nothing special about it. The cut-up steak was cooked thoroughly yet without any kind of seasonings. I mean, I couldn't even find the salt or pepper in it. You would think that the egg cooked on it would give it a smooth and rich flavor to it. But it did not come with any flavor at all. The fries were very stale and not even a slight bit of crunch to them. I also had the onion rings, and those had more flavor than the entire meal! My wife had the cheeseburger with everything on it, and she also agreed that it lacked any sort of flavor to it. When I took a bite of hers, I swear I was about to just go ahead and spit it out. The burger lacked any salt to it, and maybe this was a clean & healthy restaurant. But I know better, because nothing on it or by looking at it said clean & healthy meals. Matter of fact, even my Schweppes ginger ale had the flavor for the entire meal. And it was bottled up, premade from the factory! I would hope that the ice cream is the direct opposite of the subs and sandwiches. I did see a long lone develop as I was leaving, so maybe that should've been my red flag. The service was great, the young lady at the counter inside was very nice and polite. The building does somewhat remind you of an old 60's 60s-type walk-up joint. Aside from that, I will not be coming back in the foreseeable future. This was not an enjoyable...

It has been at least 8 or 9 years since I last had an opportunity to visit here due to a very difficult change in my work schedule. But I finally had a chance to stop by in Mid-March of 2021 and during the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. My Best Friend let me know about this place years ago after he brought me a delicious sandwich he got from here, and I used to stop by whenever I could before my schedule changed. And I do remember feeling welcomed during every visit before, but I wasn't really sure what to expect during this visit after so many years of not going here. However, I'm very pleased to advise that I was very pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome I received as soon as I walked up to their extremely convenient Walk-Up Ordering Window. And my Server also gave me a very nice smile when I advised her that I was not quite ready to order, but instead I wanted to get a menu so I could order quicker the next time I stopped by. I also met a very nice gentleman who was outside working and he answered a few more questions for me that helped me determine the timing of my next visit. Well I'm normally happy when going to B&J Carry Out BUT not tonight!!!

The Girl who took my Order did an Awesome n Amazing Job at the part and Wrote Everything down like I said Soo I can't blame her for anything wrong except for the part to whoever put my Order together in Bag before she gave it to Me too!!!! When I got my Order, I didn't unwrap my Sub [Cause I keep it warm for when I got home too] and once I did unwrap it I wish I had double checked Sub before I left parking lot now [will definitely do it next time though] Because My Steak n Cheese wasn't the one I Orginally Ordered too. I Ordered a Plain Steak and Swiss Cheese on it too and I got the Works on this Sub that I didn't order, BUT hate to say it But it turned out pretty good after taking off all the Bad Stuff I don't like or Eat too.

Next time I will double check my Sub/Orders before I leave Parking Lot/Store Now too!!!! Never had to do that as I normally trust B&J"s Carry Outs Workers/Employees will get my Order Correct the First Time too!!! But Not Anymore too.

And I would go back up there But wit gas prices soo fuking high[$4.43] nowadays, I couldn't afford to waste my gas to go back tonight soo I just dealt wit my Sub but next time I will double check!!! Thank you all Shaggy...
