I personally rate this at 3 1/2 stars, but I will never personally be coming back here again!
I came to this location on 8/25/24 in first when you walk in the place is very clean and upbeat. Our server Anna was nice, but not very engaging, other servers engaged with us more than she did which was a little odd but OK. Anna then gave us a rundown on the combos that you could get; the Sauce and the spice levels, DIDNT reveal any prices to us during that time. At this point, I’m a little worried because nowhere on the menu or in any fine print doesn’t show any numbers besides calories so we didn’t know, how much everything was until we got the bill…
The food itself was decently good, just like a regular seafood boil. The food had a nice flavor to it, but there were chunks of seasoning throughout the whole thing so that was a little bit offputting. Definitely when eating the crab you’d think you’re biting into a piece of meat when it’s really just a chunk of seasoning. I also will say that the meat was a little bit overcooked/tough and that it took a long time for us to get our food, even though it was only us and one other small group in the restaurant. When we got our food wasn’t “hot “like you think it would be after the way it was honestly Luke warm/room temperature and then with high AC in the restaurant our food quickly became cold.
The place itself is very nice. They play nice and lively music. The area is clean, but I will say the workers are kind of standoffish.
At the end when we got our bills, I was unpleasantly surprised to see that my total was $148! I had ordered the seafood boil for not knowing the price and because our server Anna was so adamant about warning us about the spice level, you think she would go ahead and warn us about the total price… That was not the case! When I was given my bill, I was shocked to say the least and very unhappy. I paid it without any fuss, but I will say that when I was given my bill, she was kind of laughing like it was some joke that I didn’t know the final price and that I was surprised by the total.
Honestly I was very unhappy that I wasn’t told what the price was going to be or else I would’ve changed and gotten a different portion and honestly disappointed with the way that acted when they build me like it was a big joke that I just got a huge bill and I was shocked by it.
I still by giving this 3 1/2 stars: for the outrageous price that I paid, quality of the food, and the way that I was treated by the workers I feel this is a...
Read moreMy wife and I had noticed the Angry Crab Shack several times over the past few months, but we were waiting for the perfect occasion to try it out. Finally, on my wife's birthday yesterday, we decided to have lunch there today (Thursday). As we walked into the clean and pleasant dining room, we couldn't help but feel a bit skeptical since it was relatively empty. However, we decided to give it a chance, and we're so glad we did.
Firstly, I want to give a shout-out to our waiter, 'Q'. He was the kindest and most helpful waiter we've encountered in Acworth this year. He made sure we were satisfied with each dish we ordered, and we ordered quite a bit. When we opened the menu, my wife jokingly said, "I want one of everything," so we did our best to try a variety of dishes.
Now, I read some reviews before writing my own, and I was surprised to see some complaints about the prices. However, I believe those individuals may have misjudged because our bill was only high due to our desire to show appreciation for the amazing service we received.
I also want to mention the person who assisted Q behind the bar. Although we didn't catch his name, he ensured that our food arrived at our table hot and ready. Speaking of the food, it was fantastic. I personally rate it 4 out of 5, but my wife insists it's closer to 4.8 out of 5, which I completely agree with. If I were eating the same meal at a restaurant by the ocean, I would easily give it a 5-star rating, assuming it was made with the freshest catches. However, I don't believe that's the case here, but I could be wrong.
We ordered the lobster Crostini as an appetizer (4 stars), a side of Caesar salad (5 stars), clam chowder (6 stars if possible), wings with Q's special sauce (that sauce thooooooo! 6stars) , fried shrimp with red beans and rice(5stars),fries, and a serving of jambalaya (5 stars). We didn't order anything from the kids' menu, but if they serve Kraft Mac n cheese, it's a win because there's no need to make fancy mac and cheese for a child who won't appreciate its richness. Let Karen go to Ruth's Chris or something.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience, rating it 4.8 out of 5. We plan to return for Mother's Day in a few days, taking advantage of the awesome deal they're offering for moms. They also have great deals for graduates this year, so make sure to plan a visit here with your caps! Thank you again to Q, and we hope the consistency remains because we haven't found any other place that has made us want to come back...
Read moreI want to be as honest as I can regarding Angry Crab Shack. First off, we have been to the one in Surprise Arizona without any problems. We were excited to see this one opening up very close to our house. We decided to try it on 6/2/2024, a Sunday about 4pm, hoping to beat the dinner rush. We did as there were not too many people in the establishment. Our party were four adults; my husband, myself, and our two adult kids. First, the food was good. All four of us had something different and the food was good. Here is where the problem came in. One of our orders were Shrimp and Grits. This came out, with another person's side of cornbread. Then three minutes later, another party's Shrimp basket came out. In the meantime, the person with the Shrimp and Grits did not know if they should eat, or wait for the other two people's food. Because grits are not the best cold, that person ate. The Shrimp basket person then ate their food. The other two were waiting and waiting for their seafood boil to come out. It did not come out until the person with the Shrimp and Grits was done with their food. This is totally unacceptable! Food should come out all at the same time. We went out to eat together, not to watch people eat, then others watching others eat. And this is bad, but what made it worse it that it was really cold in the establishment. The servers are running around, so I understand this,...but when one is done with their food, and they have to sit in an artic chill to watch others eat their food, it just makes for a horrible evening out. It turned family time; something we do not get too often with our adult kids together, into a miserable experience. Good food does not make up for inept service/cooking time. If we were told there was a problem or something, that happens. But the establishment was not busy, and we were not told about a mistake causing the two boils to come out later (nearly 10 minutes longer) that the first meal. From now on, I will stick to making dinner at home when our kids are with us instead of leaving this up to the...
