I called in an order, in which the order taker didn't get my name in their rush to end the call. So, when I went in, they didn't know what my order was. I would think it would have been intuitive, to simply look at call in orders taken, since orders are particular, and go about it that way. I told the situation to my in-laws, and heard from them that it's the new young hires that have no phone skills, despite them being on their personal phones when customers walk ins. The older woman who found my order was defensive about my order being misplaced, she talked at me without eye contact, despite me not yelling or making a scene, ( lord knows there is too much of that going on these days) and, I ended up with cold food. She even admitted to the fact that the youngsters have to work on their order taking skills. One would think they would remake the order, since I spent 20 minutes up there with them sorting it out, and it was getting colder as time passed. Carters was my go to when I visit Adel, the visit was not complete without some soft fried gizzards, but this last visit makes Popeye's look more appealing, even though they don't...
Read moreI'm extremely disappointed in Carter's here in Adel. I used to go here 2 or 3 times a week, especially since there's not many other options in Adel. I went to this location yesterday and waited in line for 1p minutes. No big deal. The cashier, Jamyra, told to pull over into the parking lot. 30 MINUTES LATER she comes back out to my car empty handed saying we're just waiting for my single apple turnover. I asked her if I could get a small cup of mac and cheese on the side and we'll call it even for the 40 minute wait. No big deal. She agrees and goes inside. She returns 5 minutes later informing me I can walk inside for a refund and my order. I walked inside, a refund was denied to me by the woman on the phone. I double checked that the Mac and cheese was in the bag, it was not. They refused to give it to me. I left and called demanding a refund. The older woman said it would be off the card by the end of the night and it is still on the card the...
Read moreStopped by Carter’s The Chicken Place in Adel, GA and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Catfish Filet Sandwich and it was so good—crispy, flavorful, and loaded with fresh toppings. Definitely a great value for the price!
We also tried the Leg & Thigh special which came with fries, a roll, and a drink for just $6.47. The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned well. My partner especially loved the sweet tea—said it was some of the best he’s had in a while!
The only miss for me was the mac & cheese—it looked great, but the taste was a bit bland and I’d pass on that next time.
The service was quick, the restaurant was clean, and the prices were honestly amazing. With a menu full of Southern comfort food classics and friendly staff, I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again!
Highly recommend Carter’s if you’re craving fried chicken, catfish, or just a solid Southern-style meal without breaking...
