I gave this review 2 stars because the staff was really good. The host was very friendly and seated us quickly as well as our waiter who was attentive and knew the menu well. On the other hand, the food was very disappointing. We were a table of 4 and each ordered something different: Bang bang shrimp as app, Mac n cheese with steak, pasta and churrasco, mofongo with chicken and the coconut breaded salmon with pasta in a pesto alfredo sauce. Also the sangria and a mojito. The sangria and mojito came in large glasses which looked nice and fun; they tasted ok, nothing out of the ordinary. My plate was the breaded salmon and pasta. The salmon was beyond overcooked and super dry. The pasta was flavorless and did not taste like pesto or alfredo, more like just cream and butter with no seasoning (which is also what it looked like - just some parsley tossed with cream). The rest of the plates also had overcooked meats - yes, even the chicken. How does a chef, from what's supposed to be a good restaurant, make chicken so dry that one doesn't want to eat it? 🤷🏻♀️ This wasn't just 1 bad plate, it was 4 out of 4 overcooked and dry proteins with bland sides. The only good thing on the table that day was the appetizer shrimp and the mofongo, nothing else. I do not recommend...
Read moreI've gotten take-out from this restaurant two times before going to sit in at the restaurant so I was aware of their menu, but the atmosphere and drink suggestions brought my experience over the top.
The atmosphere in Cinco is very inviting with elegant decor and loud laughing that invites you to open up and feel at home.
Our waitress was friendly and talkative with some great drink suggestions. We started off with a pair of Don Pasions and an order of Pionono. The drinks were amazing and the Pionono was just out of this world with the most amazing Plaintain Relish. I ordered the Churrasco Premiao with a side of arroz con habichuelas and my girlfriend ordered the Dorado Empanada en Platana with the yellow rice with a side of Risotto. My Churrasco was so tender and the Monfongo was the best I've ever tried! My girlfriend said her food was nothing short of amazing. For our second round of drinks our waitress suggested the Lavender Mojito for my girlfriend and the Parcha Coco Mojito for me and they were both amazing.
We were too stuffed to eat dessert but opted to bring back some Flan de Cabra and it's the best flan I think I've ever tasted.
I would suggest this restaurant over and over to anyone looking for a great meal with some great...
Read moreNo, No, just no! Food was absolutely terrible. 4 of us in the group and just not one good plate. Appetizer of calamari smelled extraordinarily fishy and the batter looked like it was fried in old oil. AND it tasted not good! My mahi mahi was ridiculously tough and had a beef jerky feel to it. My son's chicken parmesan was dry and lacked cheese or sauce. And super dry. again, beef jerky. Mofongo broth was overly saturated in some kind of achiote and was super potent. we told the waitress when the bill came that we were very disappointed with the meal. She called over manager who notified us that we should have said something earlier and they would have prepared everything again because while the chef is good , he is not perfect. Mind you, we had already returned the calamari and the second go round was still not good. We told him, we would have had to return every plate. My thinking is if every plate is bad, maybe this place is just bad. He never apologized and was pretty much scolding us for not having said something sooner. I mean, I am sorry but we also all had stomach issues after that meal. I feel like they are frying things in old oil. This place is just so bad. avoid if you care about your stomach...
