Mexican Cantina — Restaurant in Aguadilla

Avoid at all costs.

Bad management. Bad treatment of the server (cook rang the bell incessantly despite only having one server).

Terrible service. We were a party of 7 and the table was ignored for almost the entire hour+ we waited for our food. Asked for water for the table, it never came. Asked for guacamole and they served us a single ketchup-cup sized portion of fake guacamole for SEVEN people. They gave only one basket of chips despite ordering two separate orders of guacamole and cheese. They delivered the cheese dip without chips and were insulted that I asked to return it and that we should have hot cheese with chips. They did not inform us about the wait until I asked to speak to the manager, and he accused me of being impatient. They served only one main dish while everyone else’s food was not even near prepared. The tacos tortillas were cold. We had a party with disabilities. It was a bad experience.

They offered wings on the house. It could not compensate for the disorganized service. They told us the other restaurant had priority because the dishes were more complex— like Mofongo. That is not my responsibility but the responsibility of the manager to manage his kitchen responsibly.

Recently opened, so expect to have to ask for napkins often, and I recommend asking the waiters to read back your order to avoid mishaps. Ours didn't, so I ended up with something that she had suggested instead of what I ordered. A 20 min wait for my wife's food turned into a 50 min wait for me to get my correct order. Apologies were offered by both waitress and manager but they didn't offer any appetizers while I waited for my dinner nor gave us a discount in the check. That aside, my wife's chicken burrito was unimpressive since the chicken was not marinated nor had sauce in it. It also had Pink beans inside. My vegetable burrito had good taste and the portion was adequate. Some other restaurants offer complementary chips and salsa while you wait, but not this one. The cutlery was plastic and we had to ask for napkins on two occasions, as did people in other tables. The beer was cool but not cold. That aside, the place has great views of the Aguadilla Bay and the space between tables is adequate. The roof in the main seating area provides protection from sun and rain and the seating is comfortable. There is a parking lot about 200 feet away, free for customers. I'm not a person that likes to post or talk bad about restaurant. Unfortunately this time had no choice. My family of 6 and myself First time visiting this restaurant. 1st waiting 2hours to be served. 2nd. After 1hr 1/2 went to ask about our order then there they stated that one of the order unable to do they didn't have French fries, sauted potatoes 3rd. We ask for chicken taco, horrible meat was mad dry and hard. 4th. My husband order shrimp salad and green plantain. One taste of the shrimp couldn't eat it and 5 minutes later they served his plantain. I don't blame the waitress they only had 2 employees.
