Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries — Restaurant in Ahoskie

Not really impressed with this location. I totally understand having a lunch rush, that’s normal and part of it all, but it just seemed so disorganized. I stopped in today and ordered three of their concretes, I assumed it would be more like a blizzard from Dairy Queen, boy oh boy was a I wrong. I have gotten milk shakes here before that were thicker than this, and this was supposed to be eaten with a spoon!

They started making the concretes, but the manager (I’m assuming it was the manager since she was directing the employees on what to do) pulled the girl who was working on them away to check other people out where the employee was swamped with other orders, leaving the half prepped frozen custards to sit and melt. Then when I was asked what I was waiting on I let them know it was the ice cream. Finally the employee was back over and finished them up, but like I said they had been sitting out and melting for several minutes. So I was served melted frozen custard.

The manager apologized, saying that she thought I was waiting on a to-go order as well. But I feel she needs to ask her employees what they are working on before just telling them to move on from incomplete tasks. Regardless of if I was waiting on other food, that employee was working on prepping ice cream, that’s not really something that should be left to sit out on the counter while they have to go do...

My visit today didnt sit well with me. When coming to this location I expect to see smiles and feel welcomed. Well today I was asked my name after placing my order and when providing my name the young lady in turned repeated another last name as of I didnt know what my last name was which I found to be rude.Then my orangeade had no flavor whatsoever . I was highly satisfied with my food and the cooks promptness to getting it prepared. When walking back in to ask for my order another young lady tried to get another payment and then made a confused expression when advising my order was paid. She then just handed me my order without any condimnets such as tartor or cocktail sauce let alone a straw. I had to ask for the straw to only get back to work and find I had no utensils. I ordered a burger with mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and American cheese. I told the girl at the window exactly what I wanted but when I got my food, it was wrong. I went back, and someone else opened the window and said she said Well, that’s not what’s in the system. But I told originally person who clearly has an attitude taking my order three times what wanted.

The Second Lady told me she couldn’t give me another burger because It was 2 hours until they close basically meaning they didn’t want too.

I asked for a refund for the whole meal instead I was offered a gift card because she didn’t effectively put in the system what I communicated to the first person at the window.
