Handel's Ice Cream Akron East End — Restaurant in Akron

I came in this evening with my son, I asked for 3 Oreo brownie Sunday with Oreo ice cream. I got home and I received 1 Oreo ice cream with orange pieces in it and 2 vanilla ice cream. Due to this happening several times, I called and let them know that it doesn’t make any sense that this is a constant issue. I asked for the managers name, the lady replied I’m the assistant manager and refused to provide her name. I asked for the store managers name to write it up in the review and she refused to provide. I let her know that I’ll be down there shortly and she stated okay I’m going to call security as if I threatened her or said anything wrong. I am not in the wrong because I constantly keep spending my money to get ice cream and my order is always different. I work hard for my money and no one wants to have a constant issue.

Arrived back at this location and as I’m pulling up I see the security guard and I let him know that it was me as talking to the security guard a lady yells out the window the owner wants her banned from the property. I talked to the security guard and a nice young lady with red hair who apologized saying she just believes it was a mix up. I agreed but as I stated we are human and we make mistakes but not to identify it to help the customer I feel as though the assistant manager handled it wrong. When any of my employees make a mistake my main goal is to correct the issue but instead security got called without even an argument because I asked for a name of the assistant manager that I was speaking with or the manager of the store due to the amount of issues that I have.

I was not aware that the names weren’t allowed bc I’ve had issues in the past and I’ve been given the current manager at the time Misty’s name in which called to apologize for the issues.

I appreciate the young lady for adding the Oreo ice cream since I paid for it but I am in total confusion of how security was called on me without an argument which is just as bad as a person calling the police for no reason. I can provide my card info to prove I’ve spent a lot of money just simply getting ice cream and to be treated this way is...

The ice cream was great as always, hard to go wrong with Handel's. The service was quick, the girl who served me knew what she was doing.

I would rate this location at 5 stars, but can only give it 4 because while there is seating outdoors, there is 100% NO SHADE at this location. The seating (benches) is on the east side of the building, and in direct sunlight the majority of the day.

I visited right around noon and the benches were very hot to the touch and in direct sunlight on an 80+ degree day. Ended up sitting in my car trying to feed my 2yo his kid's cone while he was in his car seat. Not the best of times.

I do want to reiterate, however, that the product and service were both great. They would benefit greatly from some shaded seating or tables with umbrellas (like...

I’ll never come back to this location. I said I wanted a monster and the worker said “what’s that?” The monster milkshake? Then she asked what kind and I said my usual that I get quite often a lot. Banana, Oreo and salt Carmel. She said we don’t do that here and I’m like yes you do. Every location I’ve went to actually does it. I have receipts of one location doing four different types. I didn’t say that though bc obviously that’d be rude. I just said but your other locations do? She never replied just looked at me. So I compromised and said ok. Let me just get banana and Oreo.
