Italian Garden - Pizza and More — Restaurant in Akron

My family has been a loyal customer to Italian garden for years, we love their pizza and chicken. With that being said, after my last experience with them we will never be going back. I placed a call for a pickup order, the woman on the phone was being very condescending and actually hung up on me twice after pretending not to understand my order. She actually went so far as to pretend to be a robot while on the phone. Finally got my order in, estimated time of 45 minutes and price confirmed with her on the phone and I got a text confirming my order was placed. My husband went to pick the order up at the scheduled time and the woman that was on the phone (and also running register) had the nerve to say that the order was just placed and therefore not ready. I had a screenshot of the order confirmation sent to my hubby and he asked for a manager. He told the manager about her horribly rude behavior and the way she tried to belittle me over the phone. The manager told her to give my husband a discount and wait 10 more minutes, our food should be ready by then. He paid for our food and waited. Ok cool, right? No. The pizza had pineapple thrown on top of it, which we didn't order. I'm guessing it was her petty way of food tampering without doing anything illegal. Fine, I can deal with it. What is completely unacceptable was his receipt. She UP CHARGED him $5.00 more than the price I was told over the phone! So not only did we not get the food we ordered, but we also got charged extra for her "fantastic customer service". Anyone who lives locally knows there's three pizza shops within a mile of each other. For the extra headache I'll happily take my business elsewhere. So thanks, but no thanks. First off WOW‼️ I’ve seen this place on my door dash plenty of times but never tried it bc i never heard of the place. Today I wanted something new so I tried them and wow. Not even exaggerating this may be the best pizza I’ve ever had, not just in Akron but period. It wasn’t like any other pizza, It was perfectly seasoned w garlic, the pepperonis had just the right crisp, the crust was so fresh literally each bite was pleasant it melted on my tastebuds . I went there as a first time customer the other day just to try it out for myself... I've heard complaints from other friends that have been there before me. But u know never believe everything u hear from other ppl till u get it for yourself so I did. I just went small w the dollar pizza slices. It was very good actually. I will b going back soon to try many other things off their wide selection menu. I use to go to momma rosas quite a bit back in the day I wasn't a big fan of them at all Italian garden is much better then they are for sure. But they do have stiff competition around that area w of course fiesta and Leonardo right down the street....
