Hamley Bake Shoppe, LLC — Restaurant in Alabama

My rating is related to their space rental. They offer 30 people private party for $150. This includes drinks and private indoor and outdoor area. We arrived to find dead sticks in the previously beautiful planters, and the lights we had requested be on in the terrace were non-functioning "due to storm weeks ago".... the WORST part is that they only have seating for 13 ...!!! I clearly stated tea party and they claimed to have many! We had to go buy 8 card tables and alive plants just so our guest could have a place to sit! Not to mention if it had rained only 10 are allowed inside.

So after paying an additional $350 for our own tables they charged us not the $100 balance but wanted an additional $184 for "additional set up time" for coming before they opened to set up OUR tables.

The response was that we saw the dead plants when we placed our deposit and we could have counted chairs before making a reservation! As a person that rents many wedding venues it is not uncommon to have the additional seats and requested tables in storage until the special event...

After I had Hamley Bake Shoppe’s cinnamon rolls, I knew I HAD to have them play a part in my wedding! The rolls are out of this world amazing!

I was pleased at how easy it was to work with this business on creating a custom Cinnamon Roll Wedding cake. We had a cinnamon cake, cream cheese frosting, and mini cinnamon rolls coming down the cake, as shown in the pictures.

The cake was not only the best wedding cake I’ve ever had (all my guests agree with me), but it looked beautiful! The cake was perfectly moist and when combined with the frosting, it tasted exactly like Hamley’s cinnamon rolls. I am more than satisfied and appreciate Hamley’s customer service and phenomenal baking skills on making my wedding cake PERFECT!

I was very disappointed in the wedding cakes we ordered. While they were beautiful to look at, to taste not so much. Many people at the wedding told us later that the bride's cake was cold and dry. The sheet cake we ordered was dry and bordered on stale. I would not recommend their cakes for use at a wedding. After writing the review I went and spoke to Stephanie. No attempt was made to offer anything other than an apology. I told her at least half the cake was thrown away and that was a lot of money, about $1000, to throw in the trash. All she said was "sorry". If ordering a wedding cake, please make absolutely sure you pick a bakery up to the task. A beautiful cake is only part...
