Jamijo's Southern Cooking — Restaurant in Alabama

I was in Meridianville for an errand and suddenly developed a craving for fried chicken. I Googled "fried chicken" and this place popped up with 5 star reviews, so I decided to give it a try. It's inside the Sunoco and the owner said he'd been in business almost a year. The food was excellent, all the right flavors and cooked to perfection. Having grown up in the South, I can tell you that this meets and surpasses all the criteria for Southern food. The fried chicken was moist and tender, with a perfect crispy crunch to the outside. The yam side dish was sweet and nicely seasoned with brown sugar (or something similar) and the appropriate spices - like Thanksgiving dinner! The mac cheese was just out of this world - his grandmother's recipe, I was told! Everything was fresh (I arrived right at opening) and hot, and so very tasty. This is the best soul food in Huntsville, AL!!! I want to gate keep and not share this hidden gem, but this wouldn’t be fair not to share. I devoured the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and collard greens!! I also ordered the chicken gizzards, the most tender I have ever had and fried to perfection!!! I also, got the banana pudding and peace cobbler, grandma level good!! I indulged in very big back activities today and once you have them you will understand why!! I was online searching for a place to eat and I ran across Jamijo’s Southern Cooking. Everything looked pretty good so I decided to give it a try.
